TAAN Coordinator, Idris Garba , Urges Nigerian Youths to Re-elect Tinubu
By Genesis Ogiri
Alhaji Idris Garba Mustapha, National Coordinator of the Tinubu Achievement Awareness Network (TAAN), has urged Nigerian youths to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima in the 2027 general election, describing youth mobilisation as central to the political movement’s mission.
Mustapha made the declaration while speaking with journalists on Wednesday at the inauguration of Renewed Hope Youth Ambassadors for Tinubu/Shettima, held at the Nigerian National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja.
"He said the mission of the youth movement was straightforward: to galvanise young Nigerians across the country towards securing a second term for the Tinubu-led administration, while promoting awareness of its policies and programmes.
The TAAN coordinator particularly commended the administration’s education financing initiative, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), noting that the programme provides eligible students with access to financial assistance for tertiary education. He described investment in education as one of the most consequential contributions a government could make to the future of its youth population.
According to him, prioritising education demonstrates a commitment to human capital development and the creation of opportunities for young people to acquire the knowledge and skills required to contribute meaningfully to national growth.
Mustapha maintained that access to educational financing could help ease the financial burden on students and their families, while expanding opportunities for eligible Nigerians to pursue higher education. He urged young people to recognise the importance of policies designed to improve access to education and skills development.
Addressing the newly inaugurated youth ambassadors, he called for intensified grassroots engagement, peer-to-peer mobilisation and public sensitisation on the administration’s policies. He stressed that young people should play an active role in democratic participation and engage constructively in shaping the country’s political future.
"He further urged Nigerian youths to reciprocate what he described as the administration’s investment in their future by voting for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket in 2027, expressing confidence that sustained youth participation would strengthen the movement’s electoral prospects.
Mustapha’s remarks placed education financing and youth engagement at the centre of his advocacy for the president’s re-election, as political stakeholders and support groups begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general election.
