Accolades as Hadiza Abdullahi Maikano Bags ICAD Fellowship, Pledges Commitment to Professional Ethics

ABUJA - Hadiza Abdullahi Maikano, Chief Press Secretary to the Wife of the Governor of Niger State, First Lady Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago, has been conferred with the fellowship of the Institute of Corporate Administration (ICAD), earning recognition within the professional body and the right to use the designation FCAI following her induction.
The conferment took place on Saturday at Green Minds Hotel, Abuja, during a professional conference that convened administrators and other stakeholders to examine strategic approaches to leadership, institutional effectiveness and professional advancement amid prevailing economic challenges.
The conference, held under the theme “Developing Strategic Competencies for Excelling in a Depressed Economy,” provided an intellectual platform for deliberations on the imperatives of strategic thinking, administrative dexterity and adaptive leadership in navigating an increasingly complex economic environment.
Speaking after the conferment, Maikano expressed appreciation to the institute for the recognition, describing the lecture delivered at the event as an eye-opener that had broadened her intellectual horizon and offered valuable insights into enhancing her professional productivity and contributions to society.
"She noted that the knowledge acquired would enrich her professional outlook, strengthen her administrative capabilities and deepen her understanding of the competencies required to discharge her responsibilities effectively, particularly in public communication, stakeholder engagement and institutional relations.
The newly inducted fellow pledged to uphold the ethical standards, professional principles and code of conduct of the Institute of Corporate Administration, emphasising that the honour carried a corresponding responsibility to demonstrate integrity, accountability and professionalism in the discharge of her duties.
Maikano further expressed her commitment to working closely with the institute in advancing its objectives, promoting professional excellence and strengthening the culture of ethical leadership. She added that she intended to translate the knowledge and experience gained into practical outcomes that would enhance her performance and broaden her contributions to society.
In his remarks, the Director-General of the Institute of Corporate Administration, Dr G.C. Onyekwere, commended Maikano, underscoring the importance of professional development, ethical consciousness and strategic competence in strengthening administrative institutions and promoting organisational effectiveness.
The conference also highlighted the necessity for administrators and other professionals to embrace innovation, continuous learning and evidence-based decision-making as essential instruments for overcoming economic constraints and sustaining institutional productivity. With the conferment, Maikano is entitled to use the designation FCAI from the date of the award.
