ABUJA — Ambassador Prof. Dr. Princess Akawor Dolor, President and Founder of the Princess Thyroid Awareness Initiative (PTAI) and Luxeby Glamoholic Limited, has been honoured with the 100 Global Impact Personalities Award 2026, as applause reverberated through the Rotunda Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja, in celebration of a leadership trajectory increasingly defined by health advocacy, enterprise, community development and humanitarian engagement.
The recognition was conferred on Princess Dolor on September 30, 2026, at the Global Impact & Business Summit/Award 2026, organised by the Africa Intercontinental Network (AIN) under the theme, “Integrating the Global Framework.” The gathering brought together personalities from diplomatic, entrepreneurial, humanitarian and social-development spheres for a convergence of ideas, recognition and global engagement.
The award citation placed particular emphasis on Princess Dolor’s dedication to sustainable development, health awareness, community development and women’s empowerment, recognising a profile that has progressively extended beyond the conventional boundaries of entrepreneurship into the realm of social advocacy and community-centred leadership.
At the heart of that trajectory is the Princess Thyroid Awareness Initiative, a non-profit platform established to confront the information deficit surrounding thyroid disorders, promote early detection and provide support and enlightenment for individuals navigating thyroid-related health challenges.
The genesis of the initiative is deeply personal. Princess Dolor founded PTAI following her own eight-year journey with hyperthyroidism and subsequent surgery for a multinodular thyroid nodule, transforming an arduous personal health experience into an advocacy architecture designed to ensure that others are better informed, encouraged to seek appropriate medical attention and supported against the stigma associated with thyroid disorders.
While speaking with newsmen, Under her leadership, PTAI has developed an intervention framework encompassing community outreach, free thyroid screening and testing programmes, public enlightenment campaigns and health-education initiatives covering conditions such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer.
The initiative has equally taken thyroid advocacy into the public domain through awareness campaigns, billboard activations and programmes commemorating World Thyroid Day, while its post-education empowerment interventions, including grants aimed at supporting economic independence, underscore an approach that links health awareness with socioeconomic resilience.
Beyond the health-advocacy space, Princess Dolor’s leadership portfolio through Luxeby Glamoholic Limited reflects the convergence of enterprise, personal brand development and social impact. The intersection of these spheres has enabled her to construct a public-facing leadership identity in which entrepreneurship serves alongside advocacy and community-oriented initiatives.
For supporters and beneficiaries of the initiative, the significance of Princess Dolor’s recognition lies in the conversion of lived experience into organised social intervention — moving from personal adversity to public enlightenment, from awareness to screening, and from advocacy to empowerment. It is this trajectory that has increasingly defined her contribution to the wider humanitarian conversation.
The latest honour consequently represents another milestone in Princess Dolor’s expanding leadership narrative, with the Africa Intercontinental Network recognising her within a global platform that foregrounds sustainable development, health awareness, community advancement and women’s empowerment.
Her journey through PTAI demonstrates the capacity of personal conviction, entrepreneurial enterprise and purposeful advocacy to evolve into an institutional platform with a broader humanitarian mandate.
