Omoduemake Ejiro Deborah, a renowned humanitarian expert and humanitarian worker with Quincy Odafe Humanitarian Foundation, has been appointed an Eminent Peace Ambassador by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), in recognition of her humanitarian service, leadership and commitment to peacebuilding and societal development.

The prestigious recognition was conferred on Deborah on Monday in Abuja during the National Stakeholders’ Security Dialogue, organised by IAWPA to commemorate the United Nations International Day of Police Cooperation. The high-level gathering, held at the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, attracted security stakeholders, government representatives, civil society organisations and other critical actors.

Held under the theme, “Policing for Peace: Building Synergy for a Safer Nigeria,” the dialogue provided a strategic platform for stakeholders to examine contemporary security challenges and strengthen collaboration among government institutions, security agencies, civil society organisations, humanitarian bodies and community stakeholders.

A remarkable moment came when Deborah’s name was called among the distinguished personalities to be honoured. The auditorium erupted in a resounding ovation, with the echoes of applause reverberating through the hall of the Ministry of Education, in what stood out as a powerful testament to her humanitarian service and the goodwill associated with her work.

With grace and composure, the humanitarian expert walked gently through the aisle to receive the honour, marking a defining moment in her journey of service to humanity. She was formally conferred with the Eminent Peace Ambassador recognition, opening a broader platform for her to participate in peace advocacy and humanitarian engagements.

Her recognition underscores the strong connection between humanitarian service and peacebuilding, particularly in societies where interventions that promote human dignity, inclusion, compassion and social support can contribute significantly to peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.

As a humanitarian expert with the Quincy Odafe Humanitarian Foundation, Deborah's elevation is expected to further strengthen her capacity to engage in peace advocacy and humanitarian initiatives, including cross-border engagements aimed at promoting dialogue, understanding, cooperation and peaceful coexistence.

The honour therefore represents not only recognition of her past service but also a renewed call to greater responsibility. It places on Ambassador Deborah the responsibility to deploy her expertise, influence and humanitarian networks towards advancing peace, unity, human dignity and sustainable community development.

With her appointment, Ambassador Omoduemake Ejiro Deborah has joined the growing hall of fame of peacebuilders whose service to humanity continues to make a meaningful contribution to society. Her emergence as an Eminent Peace Ambassador marks a new chapter in her humanitarian journey and positions her for a broader role as an advocate for peace, compassion and development across communities and beyond national boundaries.
