Inuwa Dogo Appointed IAWPA Eminent Peace Ambassador

ABUJA — Encomiums have continued to trail the conferment of the prestigious Eminent Peace Ambassador Award on distinguished public servant, Inuwa Dogo, by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), in recognition of his commitment to public service, responsible leadership and the advancement of peace and societal development.

The recognition was conferred on Dogo on Monday at the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, during a high-level stakeholders’ gathering that attracted a cross-section of security stakeholders, government representatives and other critical actors committed to strengthening Nigeria’s peace and security architecture.

The occasion formed part of IAWPA’s broader peace advocacy initiatives, providing a strategic platform for stakeholders to deliberate on contemporary security challenges and the imperative of building stronger partnerships among government institutions, security agencies, civil society and communities.

The gathering also underscored the importance of constructive dialogue, inter-agency collaboration and responsible leadership in confronting emerging security threats and creating an environment conducive to sustainable development and peaceful coexistence.

Dogo’s recognition as an Eminent Peace Ambassador highlights the significant role of public servants in promoting institutional effectiveness, social responsibility and national cohesion. His elevation to the peace advocacy platform further places emphasis on the capacity of public-sector leadership to contribute to peacebuilding beyond conventional administrative responsibilities.

The Eminent Peace Ambassador distinction is reserved for individuals whose records of service demonstrate meaningful societal impact, responsible leadership and a commitment to values consistent with peace, human development and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The International Association of World Peace Advocates, an international non-governmental organisation with Special Consultative Status under the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2019, has continued to promote peace through advocacy, diplomacy, dialogue and strategic partnerships involving government institutions, security agencies and other stakeholders.

IAWPA International Spokesman, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nkweke, has consistently emphasised the importance of dialogue and collaboration in strengthening Nigeria’s peace and security environment, while the organisation’s International Director, Prof. Chidi Ehiriodo, has urged recipients of its honours to regard the recognition as a renewed call to responsible leadership and sustained service to humanity.

For Dogo, the Eminent Peace Ambassador honour represents both recognition of his public service and a renewed responsibility to support initiatives that promote peace, good governance, national unity and sustainable development, with the Abuja gathering reinforcing the need for collective action in building a safer and more cohesive Nigeria.
