Accolades as Slum Tech Clinches IBSA Social Impact of the Year Award in Abuja

ABUJA — Accolades have continued to trail Asmau Abdullahi, Chief Executive Officer of SlumTech, following her emergence as IBSA Social Impact of the Year, a recognition that has brought renewed visibility to her leadership trajectory and the organisation’s technology-led intervention in underserved communities.

Abdullahi clinched the prestigious recognition at the Integrity Business Summit & Awards (IBSA 2026) held at the Abuja Pavilion, Area 10, Garki, Abuja, in an impressive convergence of entrepreneurs, corporate executives, business leaders, innovators, professionals and development stakeholders drawn from diverse sectors of Nigeria’s enterprise ecosystem.

The award represents a significant milestone in Abdullahi’s professional trajectory, particularly within an increasingly competitive social-impact landscape where technology, innovation and inclusive development are becoming critical components of sustainable community transformation. Her recognition also places SlumTech Foundation’s intervention within the broader discourse on digital inclusion, human-capital development and equitable access to emerging economic opportunities.

Under its Educate pillar, the Foundation supports schools, develops STEM learning laboratories and provides foundational digital-literacy training, while its Empower framework equips women and young people with coding, mentorship and entrepreneurship competencies. Slum Tech's expanding impact architecture received further expression with the launch of its 100,000 Digital Literacy Outreach Project on August 1, 2026. The ambitious initiative is designed to reach 100,000 out-of-school children, youths and women across underserved African communities by 2031, reinforcing SlumTech’s strategic emphasis on digital capacity building, opportunity creation and long-term human-capital development.

Also, marked its second annual African Women’s Day celebration on August 1, 2026, at Anthill, Abuja, with a focus on digital and financial empowerment for women.
