Security Expert, Chris Mitchell Calls For Digital Technology in Tackle Insecurity

The digital revolution of recent decades has transformed nearly all facets of life—not least the national security environment. The volume and mass transmission of digitized information has pushed the velocity of decision-making to the limits of human capacity. National security policymakers, both civilian and military, have access to unprecedented quantities of information in near real-time. However, processing, vetting, and filtering that information has emerged as a formidable challenge.
Meanwhile, a Security Expert and Managing Partner, Skywest Surveillance Solution LTD, Dr Chris Mitchell Osazuwa has called for Digital Technology and stronger collaboration of Security Agencies.
Dr Chris Mitchell Osazuwa made the call in an interview with Newsmen, at the prestigious event organized by international Institute of professional Security.
"He urged the security Agencies of the government to embrace digital innovations to boost national security.
Embracing digital technologies across our security system is crucial to delivering the ambitions we set out in the National Security Strategy to secure the Nigerian's prosperity, national security, global competitiveness and geo-political standing in the world.
"He said that, we should shift from traditional approach to digital and online models, threats can quickly outpace traditional approaches to data security.
The vast amount of current and emerging technologies allows any individual or governing body to maximize the impact of information operations.
Digitization has rendered information not only an invaluable resource but a potential weapon in the global competition for power and influence
The Expert commended Nigeria’s security agencies and operatives for their rapid responses to terrorism and banditry. He called for synergy with private security initiatives for improved security architecture in Nigeria
