Former VC, University of Abuja, Prof Nuhu Yaqub bags role model awards

The Former Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja Nigeria professor Nuhu Omeiza Yaqub (OFR) has been honoured with a Global role Model Award as “the Notable and Top Distinguished Professor of the 21st Century” by Young Entrepreneurs and Innovators Foundation 

He received the awards alongside other eminent Nigerians drawn from different parts of the country and works of life at the World Drug Day , with The theme : “The evidence is clear: invest in prevention”. 

The prestigious event which took place in Abuja being 26th June, 2024, further reinforces Nuhu's commitment to excellence and his role as a thought leader in shaping the future of Education in Nigeria.

Wednesday Newsway Media reports that, the event took place at the white house, Lordluguard Street, Asokoro Abuja.

Among the notable personalities Awarded,are  Educationists,  economists, financial experts, industrialists, entertainment, Religious leaders, entrepreneurs, thinkers, and creators who have transcended boundaries and overcome challenges to leave in-erasable legacies.

In his days at the university of Abuja, he demonstrated focus and resilient, after the University had existed for 16 years in a setting meant for a primary school. as a visionary, considering that the University was the premier tertiary institution in the Federal Capital, he was able to move it out of the eyesore setting to the Permanent Site before the expiration of his service.
