Dr. Suleiman, Provost ECOHSAT, Says Best Way to Manage Human Beings Is to Keep Updating Yourself

ABUJA — The Provost of Emirates College of Health Sciences and Technology, Kano (ECOHSAT), Dr. Shuaibu Suleiman, has stressed the importance of continuous learning and professional development, saying the best way to manage human beings is to keep updating oneself.

Suleiman stated this while addressing journalists on the sidelines of the 2026 Conference of the Chartered Institute of Human Resources Management, Nigeria, held at the Nigeria Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja. He said managing people remained one of the most challenging responsibilities because human beings have different personalities, behaviours, needs and expectations.

According to him, “The best way to manage human beings is to keep updating yourself through continuous learning and professional development.” He urged HR professionals and other participants to embrace continuous learning and upskilling, noting that professionals must constantly improve their knowledge and skills to remain effective in a changing workplace.

Suleiman,
who disclosed that he had been a member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resources Management, Nigeria, for five years, also charged the newly inducted members to put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired during the two-day programme. He said the essence of professional training was to translate knowledge into practical solutions that would improve workplace relationships, employee welfare and organisational effectiveness.

The ECOHSAT Provost congratulated the new inductees for joining the community of professionals, urging them to take their new professional status seriously and remain committed to excellence. He encouraged them to continue developing themselves, stressing that effective leadership and people management require constant learning, adaptation and professional growth.
