Accolade as Amb. Memunat Hassan Ahmed Receives Award of Excellence from PWE FCT Chapter

ABUJA, August 16, 2026 — There was a wave of accolades and commendation as the Founder and National Coordinator of the Progressive Women Empowerment Group (PWE), Amb. Memunat Hassan Ahmed, received an Award of Excellence from the FCT Chapter of the organisation.

The award was presented during the inauguration ceremony of the PWE FCT Chapter in recognition of Ahmed’s dedication, leadership, commitment and contributions to the growth of the organisation and the empowerment of women and youths.

The recognition, according to the organisers, reflects Ahmed’s unwavering efforts towards strengthening PWE’s grassroots structures and advancing its vision of creating opportunities for women and young people to contribute meaningfully to society.

Expressing appreciation for the honour, Ahmed thanked the FCT Chapter for recognising her efforts, describing the award as both a celebration of her contributions and a greater responsibility to continue serving and empowering others.

She dedicated the honour to every woman and member of PWE who believes in the organisation’s vision, stressing that collective commitment remains vital to achieving sustainable progress.

Ahmed reaffirmed her commitment to expanding the impact of PWE through women empowerment, youth development, grassroots mobilisation and initiatives aimed at strengthening communities across the country.
