Tinubu Unveils Five National Intervention Programmes as Benue SUBEB Chairman Commends Renewed Hope Agenda

ABUJA – The Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Grace Adagba, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for unveiling five landmark national intervention programmes aimed at accelerating sustainable development across Nigeria, describing the initiatives as a bold demonstration of the Federal Government's commitment to strengthening education, governance, healthcare, social protection, and climate resilience.

Dr. Adagba made the remarks after participating in the official unveiling ceremony held at the State House Banquet Hall, Aso Villa, Abuja, where President Tinubu, alongside Honourable Ministers, State Governors, Executive Chairmen of State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs), heads of key national agencies, development partners, and other senior government officials, launched the strategic programmes.

The intervention programmes—NG-CARES, SOLID, HOPE-GOV, HOPE-EDU, and HOPE-PHC—are being implemented through collaboration between the Federal Government, the World Bank, and other development partners to drive inclusive growth and improve service delivery across critical sectors.

Speaking after the event via her official social media handles, Dr. Grace Adagba described the unveiling as a defining moment in Nigeria's development journey, noting that the five intervention programmes reflect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's determination to build stronger institutions capable of delivering meaningful and lasting benefits to Nigerians. 

"She said the initiatives align with the National Development Plan 2026–2030, placing education, effective governance, quality healthcare, social protection, and climate resilience at the centre of national transformation.

The Benue SUBEB Chairman particularly welcomed the HOPE-EDU programme, describing it as a strategic intervention that would further strengthen ongoing reforms in the nation's education sector.

"As Executive Chairman of Benue SUBEB, I am particularly encouraged by the prominence accorded to education within this national framework. It clearly demonstrates the Federal Government's recognition that quality education remains the foundation for sustainable national development, economic growth, and human capital development," she said.

According to her, the Renewed Hope Agenda presents an opportunity for states to deepen investments in basic education while improving access to quality learning, teacher development, school infrastructure, and institutional efficiency.

Dr. Adagba expressed confidence that Benue State is strategically positioned to maximize the opportunities presented by the new intervention programmes, owing to the far-reaching reforms already being implemented under the administration of Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

She commended Governor Alia for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to repositioning the education sector through investments in infrastructure, improved learning environments, teacher capacity development, enhanced school management systems, and policies aimed at raising educational standards across the state.

"The reforms being championed by His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, have laid a strong foundation for Benue to effectively implement these national intervention programmes and deliver measurable outcomes for our pupils, teachers, and communities," she stated.

The SUBEB Chairman reaffirmed the Board's commitment to working closely with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), the Federal Government, the World Bank, and other implementing partners to ensure the successful implementation of the programmes in Benue State.

"She emphasized that the Board would continue to pursue innovative strategies that improve access to quality basic education while ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective utilization of intervention resources.

Dr. Adagba further noted that collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments remains essential to achieving the objectives of the National Development Plan, stressing that sustained investment in education will produce long-term social and economic benefits for Nigeria.

"She expressed optimism that the five intervention programmes would significantly strengthen public service delivery, improve learning outcomes, expand access to healthcare, reinforce governance systems, enhance social protection, and build resilient communities across the country.

The unveiling of the programmes marks another significant milestone in President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, reinforcing the administration's commitment to building stronger institutions, empowering citizens, and delivering sustainable development that improves the quality of life for all Nigerians.
