2027: Maryamu Isa Barnabas Champions City Boys Movement, Intensifies APC Grassroots Mobilisation Across FCT

 By Genesis Ogiri

ABUJA – As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gain momentum, the Assistant Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Woman Leader of the APC FCT City Boys Movement, Hon. Maryamu Isa Barnabas, has intensified grassroots mobilisation across the six Area Councils, reinforcing the party's structure through sustained engagement with women, youths and community stakeholders.

Driven by her popular grassroots campaign slogan, "MAMA CONNECT – Everywhere You Go!", Hon. Barnabas has continued to expand the reach of the City Boys Movement by taking the APC's message directly to local communities, markets, religious groups, youth associations and ward leaders. Her outreach, party supporters say, is focused on strengthening the party's grassroots base well ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking during a series of community engagements in the FCT, Barnabas said the future of the APC depends on a strong and united grassroots structure, stressing that elections are won through continuous engagement with the people rather than last-minute campaigns.

According to her, the City Boys Movement has evolved into a vibrant platform for mobilising women and young people, encouraging active participation in politics, civic responsibility and community development. She noted that the movement remains committed to promoting the ideals of good governance, inclusive leadership and sustainable development.

The APC chieftain maintained that women remain the backbone of political mobilisation in Nigeria, describing their role as indispensable in voter education, conflict resolution and community organisation. She pledged to continue advocating for greater inclusion of women in leadership and decision-making processes within the party.

Hon. Barnabas also called on young people across the FCT to embrace peaceful political participation, register to vote and become active ambassadors of democratic values. She said the energy, creativity and innovation of Nigerian youths would be instrumental in shaping the country's political future.

She urged party members at all levels to remain focused, disciplined and united, emphasizing that internal cohesion would be critical to the APC's success in the 2027 general elections. According to her, loyalty to the party and sustained grassroots engagement are essential ingredients for electoral victory.

Reaffirming her commitment to the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Barnabas said the administration's ongoing reforms are aimed at laying a stronger foundation for long-term national development. She expressed confidence that with continued public engagement and effective communication of government policies, Nigerians would appreciate the long-term benefits of the reforms.

Political observers in the FCT believe Barnabas' sustained grassroots outreach and organisational efforts have contributed to strengthening the APC's presence in many communities, particularly through initiatives that encourage women and youths to take ownership of the political process.

As preparations for the 2027 elections continue, Hon. Maryamu Isa Barnabas pledged to sustain her grassroots mobilisation drive under the "MAMA CONNECT – Everywhere You Go!" initiative, saying no ward, polling unit or community would be left behind in the effort to consolidate the APC's support base across the Federal Capital Territory.

She concluded by calling on APC faithful to remain steadfast, work collectively and continue building bridges across communities, insisting that a united party with a strong grassroots foundation remains best positioned to earn the confidence of the electorate in 2027.
