2027: FCT City Boy Movement Women Leader Maryamu Isa Barnabas Urges Nigerians to Re-elect Tinubu

Abuja, Thursday, July 9, 2026 – The FCT Women Leader of the City Boy Movement and Assistant Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Maryamu Isa Barnabas, has called on Nigerians to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in the 2027 general elections, saying the Renewed Hope administration has laid a solid foundation for national development through infrastructure renewal, economic reforms and people-oriented programmes.

Hon. Maryamu made the declaration on Thursday at the Yoruba Forum for Asiwaju FCT, held in Abuja. The event attracted an impressive array of dignitaries, including APC leaders, government officials, political office holders, traditional rulers, women and youth leaders, community stakeholders, market associations, professionals, religious leaders, civil society representatives, and supporters of the Renewed Hope Agenda from across the Federal Capital Territory.

Hon. Maryamu said the City Boy Movement would intensify grassroots mobilisation across the Federal Capital Territory through community engagements, ward meetings, stakeholder consultations and voter education campaigns to promote wider participation in the democratic process.

She expressed confidence that continuity in leadership would enable the Federal Government to consolidate ongoing reforms and accelerate national development.

"We have witnessed tangible progress in infrastructure, education, youth empowerment and women development. These achievements deserve continuity. I therefore call on Nigerians to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 so that the Renewed Hope Agenda can continue to deliver greater prosperity for our nation."

She reaffirmed her commitment, alongside other women leaders and party stakeholders, to strengthening grassroots mobilisation across the FCT, saying the City Boy Movement would continue to engage communities, encourage civic participation and promote the administration's programmes as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

Addressing the gathering, she commended President Tinubu for what she described as bold leadership and transformative reforms that are repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and development.


She particularly praised the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for driving massive infrastructural development across Abuja, noting that the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, public facilities, and the opening up of satellite communities have significantly enhanced economic activities and improved the quality of life for residents.

"The transformation we are witnessing across the Federal Capital Territory is unprecedented. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has demonstrated visionary leadership, while the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has translated that vision into visible projects that are opening up Abuja for investment, business and sustainable urban development," she said.

Maryamu also applauded the Federal Government's empowerment initiatives, especially the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as a life-changing programme that has given thousands of Nigerian students renewed access to higher education.

She further commended Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her humanitarian interventions through the Renewed Hope Initiative, particularly the empowerment of market women, widows, vulnerable families and women entrepreneurs across Nigeria.

According to her, the First Lady's programmes have strengthened economic inclusion and provided hope to thousands of women at the grassroots.

Calling for sustained support for the administration, Barnabas urged Nigerians to rally behind President Tinubu and ensure his re-election in 2027 to consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

"We have seen tangible progress in infrastructure, youth empowerment, education and women development. The best way to sustain these achievements is to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election. Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous and united Nigeria."

She reaffirmed her commitment to mobilising women and youths across the FCT, pledging that the City Boy Movement and the APC women's leadership would continue engaging communities and expanding grassroots support for the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.
