The award was presented by the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, H.E. Ambassador Gautier Mignot, during the 2026 Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Programme (YEEP 2026), a high-profile event that brought together policymakers, development partners, private sector leaders, and youth advocates committed to advancing opportunities for young Nigerians.

Among the distinguished personalities in attendance were the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the President of Flutterwave, representatives of Nestlé Nigeria, and other key stakeholders from government and industry.

The recognition was bestowed on Dr. Kayode in appreciation of his sustained efforts in promoting youth development, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and economic empowerment through strategic partnerships and impactful initiatives.

Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Dr. Kayode expressed gratitude to the organizers and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting programmes that equip young Nigerians with the skills, resources, and opportunities required to succeed in a rapidly evolving economy.

"It is a great honour to receive this recognition from the European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS. This award strengthens our resolve to continue contributing our quota to youth empowerment and nation-building. The future of Nigeria depends significantly on how much we invest in the development and empowerment of our young people," he said.

He further commended the convener of Activate Success, Mr. Love Idoko, for creating a platform that continues to inspire collaboration among public and private sector stakeholders in addressing youth unemployment and fostering entrepreneurship.

Observers at the event noted that Dr. Kayode's recognition reflects the growing importance of private sector participation in national development efforts, particularly in creating sustainable pathways for youth engagement and economic inclusion.

As Founder of CrownLuxuryProperties and a leading figure in the Nigerian real estate sector, Dr. Kayode has consistently advocated initiatives that encourage enterprise development, wealth creation, and capacity building among young people.

The Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Programme (YEEP 2026) served as a platform to celebrate individuals and organizations whose contributions continue to inspire positive change and drive sustainable development across Nigeria.

The event also highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships between government institutions, international development partners, and the private sector in unlocking the immense potential of Nigeria's youthful population.

For many participants, the recognition of leaders such as Dr. Gbadewole Amos Kayode underscored the critical role of visionary leadership and corporate responsibility in shaping a prosperous future for the nation's youth.
