ABUJA – Ambassador Rahab Agwom Azi, Founder and Executive Director of Rahab Azi Inspire Initiative (RAAZINSPIRE), has been nominated for the Most Gender-Focused Humanitarian Excellence Award at the 2026 Samia Suluhu Hassan Pan-African Leadership Awards, scheduled to hold during the African MSME Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The prestigious nomination recognizes Ambassador Azi's sustained commitment to advancing gender equality, humanitarian service, and the socio-economic empowerment of girls and women across Nigeria and beyond. The awards, organized by the Leading Women of Africa (LWA), celebrate distinguished African leaders whose contributions continue to promote inclusive development, transformational leadership, and sustainable social impact across the continent.
Reacting to the nomination, Ambassador Azi described the recognition as a collective achievement rather than a personal milestone, dedicating it to every girl whose dreams have been restored, every woman empowered to build a sustainable livelihood, and the numerous volunteers, partners, sponsors, and supporters who have remained committed to the vision of RAAZINSPIRE.
She noted that what began as a simple vision to restore hope has evolved into a growing humanitarian movement focused on empowering girls and women through education, menstrual health advocacy, leadership development, humanitarian interventions, agricultural support for women farmers, and economic empowerment initiatives.
According to her, the continental recognition further strengthens her commitment to championing the rights and welfare of vulnerable women and girls while amplifying the voices of underserved communities across Nigeria and Africa.
Ambassador Azi also expressed profound appreciation to the Leading Women of Africa for recognizing individuals whose work continues to inspire transformational leadership and meaningful community development. She described the nomination as an encouragement to remain steadfast in promoting policies and initiatives that create opportunities for women and young girls.
She further acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the initiative's patrons, governing board, directors, staff, volunteers, development partners, sponsors, and beneficiaries, emphasizing that the success recorded by RAAZINSPIRE has been made possible through collective dedication and shared commitment to humanitarian service.
Observers have described the nomination as another significant milestone for RAAZINSPIRE, an organization that has gained recognition for implementing impactful programmes aimed at improving access to education, promoting menstrual hygiene, strengthening women's leadership capacities, and enhancing economic opportunities for women farmers and vulnerable groups.
As preparations continue for the Samia Suluhu Hassan Pan-African Leadership Awards in Dar es Salaam, Ambassador Rahab Agwom Azi reaffirmed her resolve to continue serving humanity with integrity, compassion, and excellence, while sustaining efforts to inspire hope, empower lives, and transform communities across Africa.
