In a renewed push for transformational leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections, Dr. Igbinosa Ogbeide-Ihama has officially picked the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Oredo Federal Constituency, Edo State.

Speaking with journalists shortly after obtaining the party forms, the frontline aspirant decried what he described as years of ineffective representation and developmental stagnation within the constituency, stressing that the people deserve responsive leadership capable of addressing their socio-economic realities.

Dr. Ogbeide-Ihama noted that his decision to enter the race was informed by the urgent need to reposition Oredo Federal Constituency through purposeful representation, inclusive governance, and strategic development initiatives that would directly impact the lives of constituents.

“Our people deserve leadership that is connected to the grassroots and committed to real development,” he stated. “Representation should not be ceremonial; it should translate into visible progress, empowerment opportunities, and improved living conditions for the people.”

According to him, representation at the National Assembly must transcend ceremonial politics and evolve into practical service delivery that reflects the needs, aspirations, and welfare of the people.

“For years, our constituency has suffered from ineffective representation and inadequate attention to critical developmental needs,” he stated. “The people deserve leadership that listens, understands, and responds effectively to their challenges.”

The NDC aspirant further assured constituents that his legislative agenda would be anchored on people-centered leadership, infrastructural advancement, youth empowerment, and policies designed to stimulate sustainable economic opportunities within the constituency.

He emphasized that his aspiration represents a commitment to restore confidence in representation by ensuring accessibility, accountability, and impactful governance.

“I am committed to providing effective representation that will bring succour, development, and renewed hope to the people of Oredo Federal Constituency,” he affirmed. “Leadership must be about service, inclusion, and creating opportunities that improve the living conditions of the people.”

Dr. Ogbeide-Ihama also expressed confidence in the ideological direction of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the platform as a movement committed to democratic renewal, institutional reforms, and people-oriented governance.

Political stakeholders within Edo State have continued to describe his emergence as a significant development in the evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly as conversations around effective representation and grassroots development continue to dominate public discourse.
