Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta 2027: Barrister Chidi Evans Picks NDC Reps Form, Promises Effective Representation

ABUJA — Barrister Chidi Evans has officially picked the nomination and expression of interest form of the Nigeria Democratic Congress to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with journalists at Bon Hotel, Abuja, during the ongoing National Assembly screening exercise, the legal practitioner said his ambition is anchored on the need to provide effective and people-oriented representation capable of addressing the developmental aspirations of the constituency.
Barrister Chidi Evans stated that the people of Ohaji, Egbema, and Oguta deserve a representative who understands the legislative process and possesses the competence to attract meaningful democratic dividends to the area.
“I am in this race to ensure effective representation for our people and to make sure the voices of our communities are adequately heard at the National Assembly,” he said.
The NDC aspirant further explained that his background in law has positioned him to contribute meaningfully to legislative business and national development.
“My legal background will serve as an advantage in legislative responsibilities. I am bringing my legal knowledge and experience into the National Assembly to help shape people-oriented laws and policies that will positively impact our constituency and the nation,” Barrister Evans declared.
He stressed the importance of visionary leadership, accountability, and legislative activism in repositioning the constituency for sustainable growth and inclusive development.
According to him, the people of Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta possess enormous economic and human potential that can only be fully harnessed through responsive leadership and sustained grassroots engagement.
Political observers believe Barrister Chidi Evans’ emergence in the race may intensify political realignments within the constituency as parties and stakeholders prepare for the 2027 electoral contest.
