Okafor Loveth has officially picked the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for the Ihiala Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Anambra State, ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging a people-centered, reform-driven, and development-oriented representation.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the acquisition of her party nomination forms, the female aspirant articulated a robust political vision anchored on inclusive governance, grassroots transformation, and accelerated constituency development, should she be entrusted with the mandate.
She emphasized that her entrance into the political contest is both symbolic and strategic, representing a broader call for increased female participation in governance and legislative leadership across Nigeria’s democratic space.
According to her, the prevailing political architecture must evolve to reflect gender balance, equity, and inclusive representation in decision-making processes at all levels of government.
“It is time for the voice of women to be decisively integrated into governance structures,” she stated. “Women have remained central to community development, socio-economic stability, and grassroots mobilization. It is therefore imperative that they are not only heard but actively represented in legislative spaces.”
