By Genesis Ogiri

The Chartered Institute of Information Strategy and Management (CIISM) has reiterated its commitment to building highly skilled professionals capable of providing effective leadership across diverse sectors of the economy.

This was made known by the Registrar of CIISM, Ambassador Dr. Adelanke Peter, during the institute’s first annual induction ceremony held at the Army Resource Centre, Asokoro, Abuja, which brought together strategic leaders, innovators, policymakers, and newly inducted members.

The event marked a significant milestone for the institute as it formally welcomed new inductees who underwent intensive training in strategic leadership, risk management, stress management, strategic management capacity building, and information management.

Dr. Adelanke Peter,

while speaking with journalists at the ceremony, emphasised that CIISM exists to bridge critical leadership and capacity gaps in both public and private institutions through structured professional training and global-standard knowledge delivery.

He noted that the institute is deliberately focused on producing leaders who are not only qualified but also adaptable, strategic, and capable of managing complex organizational challenges in a rapidly evolving world.

According to him, CIISM is driven by a vision of excellence that goes beyond local standards, insisting that its training framework is aligned with international best practices in leadership development and management education.

“We are building professionals who can lead effectively anywhere in the world. Our benchmark is not limited to Nigeria; we are committed to global standards of excellence in all our programmes,” Dr. Adelanke Peter said.

He further explained that CIISM places strong emphasis on strategic thinking, innovation, and information management as core pillars for leadership success in the digital age, especially under the evolving demands of global transformation.

The induction ceremony, themed “Future Proofing Strategy: Navigating Digital Innovation,” reinforced the institute’s mission to equip professionals with the tools needed to remain relevant and effective in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven environment.

CIISM concluded the event with a renewed call for new intake into the institute and continuous professional development. Dr. Adelanke Peter encouraged inductees to uphold the values of discipline, strategic excellence, and lifelong learning as they step into leadership roles across various sectors.
