Fadila Muhammad Dikko Emerges Best Attorney General at National Leadership Awards in Abuja

At the 22nd edition of the National Leadership Awards, held on 23rd April 2026 at the Nigeria Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja, the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Katsina State, Fadila Muhammad Dikko (PhD), emerged as Best Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to justice administration, legal reforms, and public service delivery.

The high-profile national ceremony brought together top government officials, policymakers, legal practitioners, and stakeholders from across Nigeria in celebration of excellence in governance and institutional leadership. The event was organized by The People's Parliament Nigeria in collaboration with Leadership Awards Limited, reinforcing its long-standing tradition of honouring individuals who have distinguished themselves in public service.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Perry Opara, stated that the award system is strictly merit-based, transparent, and anchored on verifiable performance records. He emphasized that recipients were carefully selected based on their contributions to governance, institutional development, and service delivery.

He further charged awardees to remain committed to national development, stressing the importance of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement in public service.

The announcement of Dr. Fadila Muhammad Dikko as Best Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice was met with resounding applause, as dignitaries acknowledged her role in strengthening justice administration within Katsina State.

The hall reportedly echoed with commendation as her name was announced, reflecting the recognition of her achievements in legal reform, institutional strengthening, and promotion of the rule of law at the state level.

Speaking with newsmen shortly after receiving the award, Dr. Dikko expressed appreciation to the administration of His Excellency, Dikko Umaru Radda, for the opportunity to serve in her capacity. She commended the governor’s commitment to strengthening the justice system in Katsina State, noting that his administration has demonstrated strong political will toward ensuring fairness, equity, and effective governance.

She further stated that the supportive environment provided by the state government has enabled the justice ministry to implement reforms aimed at improving access to justice and strengthening institutional capacity. Dr. Dikko also reaffirmed her dedication to the governor and the people of Katsina State, pledging continued commitment to service delivery and legal excellence.

Other distinguished awardees from across the federation were also honoured for their contributions to governance, public administration, grassroots development, communication, and justice sector reforms, underscoring the national character of the awards.

The ceremony concluded with renewed calls for ethical leadership and strengthened institutional performance, as organizers reiterated their commitment to promoting excellence and recognizing individuals whose service continues to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s development.
