Dr. Asmau Abdullahi Ribadu Emerges Peace Ambassador of Nigeria in Abuja

Dr. Asmau Abdullahi Ribadu, Founder of Hope for Her Foundation, has been conferred with the prestigious Peace Ambassador of Nigeria Award in recognition of her unwavering commitment to girl-child empowerment and humanitarian service.
The conferment further underscores her renewed commitment to advancing humanitarian service delivery, while reinforcing her determination to broaden the scope of her interventions, deepen strategic advocacy for the girl-child, and sustain impactful programmes aimed at strengthening education, health, and social welfare outcomes across underserved and vulnerable communities.
The occasion, held at the Los Angeles Centre, Kado in Abuja, brought together key stakeholders, development partners, and dignitaries who gathered to witness the momentous ceremony.
Amidst the gathering of esteemed guests at the banquet hall, the spotlight beamed brightly on Dr. Ribadu as her name was announced, drawing a thunderous ovation that echoed across the hall—an affirmation of her impactful contributions and growing influence in humanitarian circles.
In his remarks, the convener of the Peace Ambassadors Advocacy Network (PAAN), Ambassador Dr. Kingsley Onuche, lauded her remarkable leadership trajectory, describing her as a beacon of hope whose interventions continue to transform lives and uplift vulnerable girls across communities.
Speaking with Newsway Reporters, Ambassador Ribadu expressed deep appreciation for the honour, describing it as both elating and humbling, while emphasizing that it comes with greater responsibility.
“This recognition is a call to responsibility. I am deeply passionate about the girl-child. I have engaged with thousands of young girls and continue to champion their care across the FCT, Adamawa, and Borno States,” she stated.
She further noted that the award will spur her to amplify her advocacy efforts, particularly in advancing education and welfare for the girl-child.
Dr. Ribadu is the Founder of the HopeForHer Humanitarian Foundation, established in 2019, with a mission to empower girls in rural communities through improved access to menstrual hygiene, education, and skills development—efforts that continue to leave a lasting impact across underserved communities.
