Bamidele Abiodun Blessing Bags PhD in Christian Education, Calls for Spiritual Renewal

Abuja, 24th April 2026 — Dr. Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun Blessing has been formally conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Christian Education at the 12th Convocation Ceremony of a College of Christian Studies held at the FCT Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja.

The ceremony, held at the Convocation Brimmer Hall, was conducted by EL-ELYON International Bible College and Seminary in collaboration with Bethel University, USA, and brought together academic leaders, clergy, policymakers, family members, and distinguished guests in an atmosphere marked by solemnity, worship, and thanksgiving.

The event featured prayers, hymns, scriptural exhortations, and academic processions, reflecting the institution’s commitment to combining theological depth with academic excellence in Christian education.

Speaking shortly after her conferment, Dr. Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun Blessing charged Christian faithful to return to the Word of God as their daily guide, emphasizing that spiritual growth, moral discipline, and societal transformation are anchored on consistent engagement with scripture.

She further stressed the need for believers to pursue knowledge while renewing their mindset in accordance with biblical truth, noting that a transformed heart produces a transformed life and, ultimately, a transformed society.

According to her, many of the challenges confronting families, communities, and nations today stem from a gradual departure from foundational Christian values, urging the church to intensify discipleship, sound teaching, and spiritual grounding.

In his remarks at the convocation ceremony, the Provost of the College, Prof. Silas D. John, charged the graduands to remain steadfast in the Word of God, stressing that true success in ministry and life is rooted in sound doctrine, integrity, and obedience to divine principles.

Prof. John noted that academic achievement in Christian education carries a sacred responsibility, urging graduates to become ambassadors of Christ who reflect excellence in both character and service.

He also commended the partnership between EL-ELYON International Bible College and Seminary and Bethel University, USA, describing it as a strategic collaboration that continues to strengthen theological education and leadership development across nations.

Dr. Bamidele expressed profound gratitude to God for the grace to complete her doctoral studies, appreciating her mentors, facilitators, and family for their unwavering support throughout her academic journey.
