2027: Unuafe Rallies Deltans After ADC Convention, Unveils Bold Blueprint for Economic Renewal

A governorship aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Emmanuel Unuafe, has intensified his political momentum ahead of the 2027 Delta State election, following his participation at the party’s national convention in Abuja.

The high-profile gathering, which attracted over 2,000 delegates from across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, provided a platform for critical discussions on democratic growth, party structure, and national development.

Speaking shortly after the convention, Dr. Unuafe underscored the importance of a vibrant opposition, noting that Nigeria’s democracy continues to demonstrate that it is not a one-party system, but one that accommodates diverse political voices and choices.

He commended the ADC for promoting internal democracy, stressing that the absence of automatic tickets within the party reinforces fairness, competitiveness, and credibility among aspirants seeking elective positions.

Dr. Unuafe expressed optimism about the direction of the country, adding that lessons drawn from the convention reaffirm his belief that both Nigeria and Delta State are on a progressive path toward political and economic transformation.

Addressing the people of Delta State, the aspirant lamented that despite the state’s abundant natural resources, the benefits have not translated into meaningful development, calling for a new leadership approach that prioritizes impact over rhetoric.

Unveiling his blueprint, Dr. Unuafe pledged to focus on job creation and economic diversification by reducing reliance on oil and gas, while investing in agriculture and sports as alternative drivers of growth and youth empowerment.

He further disclosed plans to establish football academies across the three senatorial districts of the state, leveraging his experience as a UK-based referee to nurture talents, create opportunities, and position Delta youths for global competitiveness.

On infrastructure, he identified unstable electricity supply as a major constraint to economic productivity, promising to deploy a mix of gas, solar, wind, and waste-to-energy solutions to power small businesses, support farmers, and drive industrial development, while also promoting cleaner cities through sustainable waste management initiatives.

In conclusion, Dr. Emmanuel Unuafe reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to building a prosperous, inclusive, and forward-looking Delta State, anchored on transparency, innovation, and people-centered governance. He urged Deltans to embrace a new vision of leadership that prioritizes opportunity, accountability, and sustainable development, expressing confidence that with collective support, the state can rise beyond its current challenges into a future defined by growth, stability, and shared prosperity as the 2027 elections approach.
