PAT Chairman Usman Saleh Hassan Charts New National Path, Declares Tinubu Deserves Re-Election at Abuja Launch

The political atmosphere in Abuja took a decisive and strategic turn on Thursday as leaders, development partners, and youth mobilizers gathered at Merit House, Maitama, for the Inaugural Launch of Partners Assured for Tinubu (PAT). While the event enjoyed notable representations from the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Sevi Tinubu of the Noella Foundation, the defining highlight of the day was the address delivered by PAT Chairman, Usman Saleh Hassan—a speech that immediately shaped the tone, direction, and political resonance of the entire gathering.

In one of the event’s most pivotal moments, Hassan declared unequivocally that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu “deserves re-election,” anchoring his position on what he described as measurable improvements in security, education, and job creation. He argued that the early reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda had already begun to chart a new trajectory for national transformation and stability.

Hassan emphasized that the administration’s achievements—particularly in stabilizing security operations, expanding access to quality learning, and creating fresh employment pathways for young Nigerians—stand as evidence of focused and responsive governance. “What Mr. President has achieved in this short period is proof of focused leadership,” he stated. “These are signals of a leader committed to true national rebuilding.”

Political analysts present at the launch described Hassan’s endorsement as a “strategic political signal,” noting that it reflects not only the confidence of PAT’s leadership but also the increasing alignment between citizen-based platforms and the administration’s broader development vision. They observed that the Chairman’s remarks were deliberately framed to crystallize grassroots momentum ahead of key national decisions.

Further demonstrating the strength of PAT’s machinery, Hassan announced that the movement now boasts over 2 million registered members spread across the 36 states and the FCT. He described this vast membership as a formidable civic force capable of influencing political outcomes and deepening public trust in governance. “We are ready, willing, and energetic to mobilize support for Mr. President,” he declared. “Our structure is solid; our people are motivated; and our message is clear.”

Hassan’s speech—firmly structured, authoritative, and resonant with national purpose—was widely regarded as the intellectual backbone of the event. Observers noted that his delivery signaled the rise of a renewed civic movement committed to aligning itself with the priorities of the Renewed Hope Agenda, while also promoting citizen ownership of national reforms.

In remarks described by many as “clarion, courageous, and strategically weighted,” Hassan insisted that Nigeria’s long-term progress must be driven by its citizens. “Nigeria’s progress cannot be outsourced. It must be built by the hands, minds, and collective resolve of its people,” he said. His tone, measured yet commanding, reflected a rare blend of statesmanship and grassroots awareness—an approach that reinforced PAT’s mission as a political partner rather than a mere support structure.

Demonstrating a strong grasp of Nigeria’s evolving governance landscape, Hassan addressed the growing perception gap between policy decisions and public expectations. He argued that organizations like PAT serve as credible bridges between government and the governed. “The vision of Renewed Hope is not a slogan; it is a national responsibility,” he asserted. “Our role is to domesticate this vision in every community, village, and constituency.”

Perhaps the most striking revelation from his address was that 98% of PAT’s members are youths, a demographic shift he described as a powerful testament to the renewed optimism among young Nigerians. “The youths are happy. We have reached out to them, engaged them, and listened to them. Their response has been overwhelming,” he said. Analysts noted that this youth-driven momentum positions PAT as a critical interface between national policy and the country’s largest voting bloc.

In their final assessments, political commentators described Hassan’s posture as a calculated and deliberate effort to institutionalize grassroots partnership in governance. They noted that his disciplined, analytical, and inclusive leadership style has positioned him as a central mobilizing force in Nigeria’s civic and political space. His remarks, they concluded, reflect a new era of citizen-led national participation—one that seeks to elevate governance accountability while strengthening democratic engagement across the country.
