The Director General of the Institute of Security and Forensic Studies Nigeria, Ambassador Dr. Morgan Okocha, has officially announced that the 18th Induction and Conference Ceremony of the Institute will hold on 17th December 2025 at the National Merit Award House, Maitama, Abuja, beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Dr. Okocha described the forthcoming event as an international annual summit and General Assembly for forensic practitioners, noting that this year’s edition promises to be remarkable, transformative, and life-changing for all participants.
He stated that all prospective inductees from the following sister institutions and professional schools are expected to be in attendance:
Advanced peace and reconciliation Centre of Nigeria, College of Detective and Legal Investigation, College of Gas and Oil Exploration Technology and School of Aviation Studies
Dr. Okocha emphasized that this annual conference serves as a unifying platform where both old and new members—from within and outside Nigeria—gather to deepen their knowledge, exchange ideas, and broaden the scope of their professionalism after undergoing the Institute’s specialized training.
Reiterating the importance of discipline, he urged all inductees to be present by 9:00 a.m. sharp, cautioning firmly against the habitual delay associated with “African time.”
He explained that the conference is strategically designed to empower inductees, enhance professional ethics, and strengthen capacity across the fields of security, intelligence, forensic studies, investigative sciences, and related disciplines. Participants will also take the Oath of Office and Allegiance, reaffirming their commitment to integrity, diligence, and excellence in their professional conduct.
He further noted that the conference remains a strategic gathering of experts, practitioners, and stakeholders who will deliberate on emerging trends, challenges, and innovations in the forensic and security ecosystem.
As part of this year’s intellectual engagements, Dr. Okocha revealed that a number of high-profile personalities will be speaking at the conference. Notably:
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, will deliver a special lecture on Cyber Security, focusing on new methods of tracking online activities and the expanding intersection between digital safety, national security, and forensic intelligence.
The Director General of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Barrister Aliyu Bagudu Abubakar, will deliver a presentation on “The Effects of War in the African Region,” examining the legal, humanitarian, and security implications of armed conflicts across the continent.
The DG , Morgan Okocha affirmed that the Institute remains unwavering in its mission to raise a knowledge-driven, ethically grounded, and professionally fortified community—men and women equipped with the insight, integrity, and intelligence needed to confront and conquer the evolving security and forensic challenges of our time.”
