Dr. Medinah Hayatudeen Ibrahim bags prestigious research fellowship of GCIEM, Canada

Abuja, Nigeria – In a distinguished celebration of professional excellence, governance expertise, and sectoral leadership, the Global Chartered Institute of Energy Management (GCIEM), Canada, has conferred its prestigious Research Fellowship upon Dr. Medinah Hayatudeen Ibrahim, a seasoned Nigerian professional renowned for her contributions to human resource management, governance, and institutional capacity development across Nigeria’s public sector.

Dr. Ibrahim’s academic trajectory underscores her intellectual rigor and strategic vision. She earned a B.Tech. in Estate Management from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, and a PhD in Business Administration (Human Resource) from LIGS University, Honolulu, Hawaii, US, specializing in Human Resource and Governance. These qualifications have equipped her with the analytical and strategic tools to lead transformative initiatives across complex institutional frameworks.

Her professional career spans Nigeria’s key public institutions, including the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the Petroleum Equalisation Fund (PEF), and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). She began as a Customer Service Relations Officer at KEDCO, progressed to HR Officer at FIRS, and advanced to HR Manager at PEF, where her leadership in performance management, staff development, and governance enhanced organizational efficiency.

At NMDPRA, Dr. Ibrahim served as HR Manager and Technical Assistant to the Chief Executive on governance and capacity optimization. In this capacity, she provided strategic counsel on governance, ethics, and human capital alignment with national regulatory goals, bridging operational HR, middle management, and executive advisory functions. Her expertise has strengthened workforce planning, policy implementation, succession management, and stakeholder engagement within Nigeria’s petroleum and revenue regulatory framework.

Dr. Ibrahim is widely recognized for her ability to drive organizational reforms, promote transparency, and build institutional capacity. Her commitment to operational excellence, ethical governance, and sustainable human capital strategies has positioned her as a transformative leader whose impact resonates across Nigeria’s public sector.

She is a distinguished member of professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) – NIM, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and is in view for the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).
