Engr. Tom’s career, spanning over 28 years of distinguished service, is a testament to relentless pursuit of excellence and transformative impact. From his early engagements in hydrocarbon exploration and field development planning to his mastery of integrated asset modelling, gas master plan development, production optimization, and reserves valuation, he has consistently demonstrated an extraordinary blend of technical acumen, operational leadership, and strategic insight.

 His adept handling of unitization negotiations and unitized field management has been instrumental in maximizing asset value and ensuring sustainable operational performance across multiple oil and gas projects in the Niger Delta and other African sub-regional basins.

Currently serving as Deputy Manager, Reservoir Studies at Oando Energy Resources Nigeria Limited (formerly Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited), Engr. Tom has been a key driver of multi-billion-dollar upstream projects, representing his organization at high-level technical and investment forums both domestically and internationally. His scholarly contributions, including co-authoring technical papers such as “Increased Asset Life by the Use of ESP” (SPE Paper #79532) and “Criteria for Optimal Gas Injection into Petroleum Reservoirs”, have further cemented his reputation as a thought leader within the global petroleum engineering community.

Engr. Tom’s professional influence extends beyond project execution. He has served on the SPE Technical Paper Review Committee (2003–2004), held office as Secretary of SPE Section 103, Nigeria (2009), and contributed to national energy governance as a member of the Nigerian National Reserves Standard and the Nigerian Oil & Gas Reserves and Resources Booking and Reporting Standardisation Technical Committee (2012–2019). Such engagements underscore his unwavering dedication to industry standardization, technical rigor, and capacity building.

Academically, Engr. Tom holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt, and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), with full registration under the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
