Abuja, Nigeria – August 30, 2025 — The golden halls of the Barcelona Hotel, Abuja, shimmered with history and prestige as the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management (IGPCM) rolled out its grand Induction, Fellowship Investiture, and Global Peace Icon Award Ceremony. The colorful gathering drew an array of 112 inductees and a galaxy of dignitaries from diplomacy, academia, enterprise, and humanitarian circles, reaffirming IGPCM’s towering reputation as a custodian of peacebuilding excellence.

The evening was further illuminated by the induction of distinguished Fellows and Research Fellows, whose sterling contributions to faith, governance, development, and humanitarian work have marked them as torchbearers of peace in their diverse spheres.

In the Research Fellowship cadre, the spotlight shone on innovators and thought leaders including  Sunday Ayuba, Nosah Bahago, Adeyemo Wale,  Dr Gladys Ate Stanley and Dr. Celestina Ogbeh, each recognized for their groundbreaking contributions in public health, governance, and community development.

These honorees now join IGPCM’s expanding constellation of peacebuilders, a body that has consistently produced leaders who combine technical expertise with humanitarian vision, leaving indelible footprints on local and global platforms.

From its founding years, the Institute has grown into one of Africa’s most formidable platforms for nurturing peace professionals, equipping leaders, and advancing conflict-resolution strategies that echo across borders. For over a decade, IGPCM has stood as a beacon of scholarship and service, producing Fellows, Ambassadors, and Peace Icons who now serve in government institutions, the United Nations system, humanitarian agencies, and grassroots organizations.

The evening opened with a thought-provoking induction lecture by Dr. Ambassador Adetunberu Oludotun, Global President of the Council. His address spotlighted the Institute’s mission to reshape peacebuilding narratives by arming professionals with tools of negotiation, research-driven strategies, and ethical leadership frameworks.

The ceremony further featured the decoration and commissioning of Peace Ambassadors alongside the administration of the oath of allegiance, led by Hon. Ambassador Tarhule Joshua Teryila, Registrar of IGPCM. In a solemn but inspiring charge, he urged inductees to embody the Institute’s high standards of integrity and to pioneer initiatives that would build bridges across divides in communities, nations, and the global arena.

Over the years, IGPCM has become more than an academic body; it has evolved into a movement of transformative leadership. The Institute has trained and certified hundreds of professionals in mediation, negotiation, conflict transformation, humanitarian response, and sustainable development. Its alumni network stretches across Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America, amplifying Africa’s voice in the global discourse on peace.

“IGPCM remains committed to shaping the global peacebuilding narrative, equipping professionals, and advancing policy-driven conflict resolution strategies across Africa and the world,” President Adetunberu affirmed, drawing resounding applause from the audience.

The Evening’s blend of symbolism and substance left the atmosphere charged with admiration. As inductees received their medals, certificates, and citations, it became evident that IGPCM’s influence is not measured in ceremonies alone but in the countless lives touched through dialogue, research, and humanitarian engagement.

The 2025  August edition of the induction and fellowship ceremony thus reaffirmed the Institute’s mission — to inspire a new generation of peace architects whose collective effort will secure a world built on justice, inclusivity, and enduring harmony.
