Pastor Omagwu Moses Elevated as Distinguished Fellow and Global Peace Ambassador

Abuja — At the grand convocation of peacebuilders on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, inside the illustrious Barcelona Hotel, Abuja, faith and global recognition met on one stage, Ambassador Pastor Omagwu Moses Akwu, founder of the Moses Omagwu Akwu Intercessory Ministries, was conferred with the Distinguished Fellowship Award by the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management.

The honor did not stand alone. With this conferment, Pastor Omagwu was officially inducted as a certified Global Peace Ambassador and Distinguished Fellow of the Institute—the highest honors conferred by the body.

For over a decade, Pastor Omagwu has walked a defining trajectory—pioneering intercessory ministries, advancing humanitarian outreach, and building bridges of reconciliation in a nation often tested by divisions. His ministry has stood as a bastion of prayer, dialogue, and hope, nurturing communities and offering solace to the vulnerable while steering faith into tangible peacebuilding.

The ceremony, graced by eminent dignitaries, industry leaders, and peace advocates, became a moment of recognition for a man whose ten years of consistent peacebuilding efforts have left visible footprints across Nigeria’s religious and civic landscapes.

Speaking on the significance of the award, Institute President, Dr. Ambassador Adetunberu Oludotun, described Pastor Omagwu as “a peacebuilder in cassock, whose service transcends the pulpit. His intercessory vision has blossomed into humanitarian action, embodying the values of unity, compassion, and hope. The Institute sees in him not just a clergyman, but a global peace ambassador.”

The Registrar, Hon. Ambassador Joshua Tarhule, reinforced this appraisal, urging all inductees to see the fellowship as more than a title. “This fellowship is a mantle, a shield, and a charge,” he said. “Ambassador Omagwu and his colleagues must wear it with integrity, advancing ethical leadership and collective peace initiatives wherever they serve.”

For Pastor Omagwu, the award was not an endpoint but a renewed call to service. Addressing newsmen shortly after his decoration, he reflected with humility:
“This honor belongs not to me alone but to every intercessor, every peace advocate, every voice that refuses to allow conflict to triumph over community. I thank the Institute for recognizing this journey, and I pledge to continue fostering peace initiatives within Nigeria and across borders. Peace is not just an aspiration—it is the foundation on which society must stand.”

With this conferment, Ambassador Pastor Omagwu Moses Akwu has now been formally inducted into the Global Peace Hall of Fame, joining a distinguished circle of fellows who embody the values of dialogue, reconciliation, and justice. His trajectory—from pastor to intercessor, from humanitarian advocate to recognized peace ambassador—underscores the Institute’s vision: that true leadership is measured not by power but by the ability to heal, reconcile, and build bridges across divides.

As the curtains fell, the rising convocation left a resounding message—peace has many uniforms and many altars, but one mission. The honorees, now elevated to the Institute’s highest ranks as Distinguished Fellows and Global Peace Ambassadors, walked out not as individuals carrying awards, but as custodians of a trust: to reconcile, to heal, and to lead with courage in the face of division.
