Abuja, Nigeria — A resounding call for inclusive leadership echoed through the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) today, as Ambassador Succex Bright, a continental voice for development and President of Focus Africa, delivered a keynote address that placed women squarely at the heart of Africa’s future.
Invited by the NCWS President, Princess Edna Azura, the engagement brought together state representatives, civil society leaders, and policymakers, and quickly became a spotlight moment for the unveiling of Focus Africa’s women-centered development programs.
Representing a new generation of transformative African leaders, Amb. Succex Bright took the stage with a message rooted in advocacy, equity, and continental vision.
“Africa’s future is not a question of potential—it is a question of inclusion,” he declared. “And that future is bold, inclusive, and female-powered.”
In his address, Ambassador Bright unveiled the Leading & Emerging Women Forum, a key subsidiary of Focus Africa committed to championing African women in leadership, innovation, enterprise, and civic engagement. The initiative, he noted, is part of a broader movement positioning women as central actors in Africa’s development story.
“Focus Africa is more than a brand—it is a movement. A Pan-African movement turning the spotlight on African excellence, driven by the ingenuity and resilience of African women,” he said.
Beyond outlining Focus Africa’s agenda, Amb. Bright used the platform to laud the efforts of women-led institutions and figures, including a heartfelt commendation to the President of Women for her role in reshaping narratives and advancing media inclusion.
“She stands as a formidable voice in the struggle for balance and representation,” Bright noted. “Her leadership in media advocacy echoes the ideals we uphold at Focus Africa.”
The event, held in Abuja, was a high-level convergence of state chapter leaders and national executives of NCWS, with conversations revolving around sustainable empowerment, social policy reform, and collaborative frameworks for grassroots impact.
Building on the momentum of his recent engagement with national women leaders, Ambassador Succex Bright, President of Focus Africa, has officially announced the upcoming Focus Africa Business Roundtable—a high-level continental forum aimed at strengthening Nigeria-Africa trade integration and empowering inclusive economic growth.
The summit is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, and will convene policymakers, business leaders, trade experts, and development professionals from across the continent.
Themed:
“Expanding Access to Nigeria-Africa Markets to Enhance Sustainable Economic Development,”
the roundtable seeks to unlock trade pathways, foster cross-border business linkages, and promote sustainable enterprise, particularly through youth and women-led innovation.
In announcing the event, Ambassador Bright described the roundtable as a continental call to action:
“If Africa must rise, we must connect her entrepreneurs, harmonize our trade policies, and empower women and youth to lead,” he stated. “This roundtable is not just a meeting—it is a movement for prosperity.”

With Focus Africa gaining traction across multiple African states, today's appearance further cemented his leadership on the frontlines of gender equity, youth engagement, and policy-driven transformation.
