...Diplomatic Support Builds Momentum Ahead of Connect Her Network App Launch and National Women’s Impact Conference

Diplomatic momentum is steadily building around one of Africa’s most anticipated gender-focused digital innovations, as leading diplomats, institutional stakeholders, and development partners confirm participation in the forthcoming Connect Her Network Mobile App Launch and National Women’s Impact Conference, scheduled for August 9, 2025, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja.

This development was disclosed during a media briefing on Tuesday by Ambassador Ojiah Victoria Ogwuche, one of the national coordinators of the project. Speaking to Newsway Media Reporters, she emphasized that the growing level of continental backing reflects a shared vision for harnessing technology to drive gender inclusion, public-private collaboration, and sustainable development across Africa.

“The Connect Her initiative has evolved beyond a national innovation—it is now a continental conversation,” Ambassador Ojiah stated. “We deeply appreciate the growing alignment of the diplomatic community, policymakers, youth leaders, and intergovernmental actors with this historic launch.”

Among the confirmed guests is Ms. Valentina Ofiepre Uchegbu, Chief Operating Officer of the Pan African Chambers of Culture, Trade and Investment. Her endorsement marks a vital integration of cultural diplomacy into the broader narrative of digital gender empowerment.

“The Connect Her App merges the spirit of Pan-African trade, diplomacy, and womanhood. This platform is cultural innovation in motion,” Ms. Uchegbu said in a statement shared with Newsway Media.

Her presence will symbolize the increasing role of cultural institutions in strengthening gender-responsive digital infrastructures across the continent.

Also lending support from the youth development front is Mr. Oluwasegun Ajayi, President of the African Youths International Development Foundation, who has confirmed his attendance and backing.

“The future of Africa lies in the hands of digitally empowered women and youth. This app is a blueprint for that future,” he remarked, affirming his foundation’s full support for the initiative.

Mr. Ajayi, a longstanding advocate for youth-women collaboration, is widely recognized for promoting inclusive leadership. His presence represents a generational bridge between innovation, empowerment, and sustainable policy development.

At the heart of the Connect Her Network are two leading visionaries: Amb. Dr. Ogochukwu Okekpolo and Amb. Dr. Mary Olubunmi Gbadewole, Co-Chairpersons of the Connect Network Foundation. Their leadership reflects a compelling blend of moral strength, policy insight, and a commitment to transformational service. Under their guidance, the foundation has grown from grassroots initiatives to international prominence.

Also confirmed are Amb. Dr. Smart Acha and Hon. Ziphion Chrysanthus, serving as Chairmen of the Foundation.

Amb. Dr. Acha, known for his advocacy for inclusive governance and technology access, has played a pivotal role in amplifying women’s voices across leadership and innovation spaces. His continued support strengthens the foundation’s credibility and strategic outreach.

Meanwhile, Hon. Ziphion Chrysanthus, who also serves as Liaison Director for MDAs and Security Agencies (Plateau State Government, Abuja Liaison Office), has been instrumental in coordinating inter-agency protocol, diplomatic relations, and security logistics for the event.

“Behind the scenes, Hon. Ziphion has provided a vital diplomatic link between the Connect Her initiative and various government agencies,” Ambassador Ojiah added. “His role has been crucial in shaping a secure, policy-compliant, and inclusive conference framework.”

About the Connect Her Network Mobile App

The Connect Her App is not merely a digital platform—it is a purpose-driven empowerment infrastructure designed to:

Provide free, verified access to funding, mentorship, enterprise tools, and training programs

Facilitate CSR-based interventions and real-time development tracking

Connect public and private institutions to women’s needs for measurable and impactful interventions

Serve as a transparency and accountability channel for local and multilateral development programs

With its official unveiling during the National Women’s Impact Conference, the app is already gaining the attention of continental institutions, youth organizations, and women-focused networks.

The conference, themed “League of Extraordinary Women: Timeless Impact,” seeks to anchor the app within the larger context of legacy, institutional transformation, and the redefinition of women's leadership in Africa’s digital era.

As the countdown begins toward the August 9 launch, the increasing wave of diplomatic endorsements and institutional confirmations reinforces a singular message: Africa is ready to embrace digital empowerment as a pillar for inclusive policy, equity, and development.

With its unique combination of grassroots relevance, technological innovation, and high-level institutional support, the Connect Her Network is no longer just a project—it is a continental movement, reshaping the narrative of women’s participation, youth inclusion, and Pan-African cooperation in a tech-enabled age.

All eyes now turn to Abuja, where voices from across Africa will gather—not only to witness the birth of a platform but to elevate a legacy of empowered womanhood and visionary leadership.
