The Institute of Security and Forensic Studies Nigeria (SFSN) has released its official 2024/2025 Professional Membership Gazette during its 20th Governing Council Meeting held at No. 14 Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Gudu, Abuja.
The high-level meeting, presided over by the Institute’s Director-General, Dr. Amb. Okocha Morgan Meshack, marked a significant milestone in the institution’s governance and strategic direction. Central to the deliberations was the unveiling of the professional gazette, which recognizes accredited members and outlines key institutional partnerships.
The newly gazetted professional members are joined by several high-profile institutional partners, including:
Advanced Peace and Reconciliation Centre of Nigeria, College of Oil and Gas Exploration Technology, Nigeria
School of Aviation and Aerospace Information Management Technology, Nigeria, SFSN Logistics and Tour Services, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, USA, Benue State University.
According to the Council, these partnerships represent the growing international reach and interdisciplinary nature of the SFSN’s professional network.
The SFSN Professional Gazette, described as the Institute’s official news and information platform, will serve as a key communication channel for its members, staff, and global partners. The publication will provide updates on academic schedules, international seminar programs, student affairs, professional inductions, and other institutional developments.
The Gazette is designed to bridge the information gap between professionals in the security and forensic sectors, both within Nigeria and globally, offering content in both digital and print formats.
Alongside the Gazette, the Governing Council also endorsed the SFSN Gazetted Professional Membership Handbook, a detailed reference that outlines the legal and institutional frameworks guiding the Institute’s operations. The handbook delineates the roles of the Governing Council, partner institutions, professionals, and committee structures, providing clarity on administrative processes and governance mandates.
The Council emphasized that the handbook is aimed at strengthening institutional accountability, advancing sound training, and promoting technology-driven professional development
In line with global best practices, Dr. Meshack also announced the Institute’s full-scale digitization of student, professional, and staff records, a process that began in 2024. This digital transformation initiative stems from a signed Memorandum of Understanding with an international forensic body and is expected to streamline certification processes and record management.
“Every professional certified by SFSN will now be traceable through our official gazetted digital registry,” Dr. Meshack stated. “This innovation marks a new era of transparency and efficiency for the Institute.”
The digitization move is part of broader efforts to position SFSN as a center of excellence for security and forensic education, research, and international collaboration.
