Hon. Yunusa Kabiru Marsha: A New Dawn for Wuse Ward — The People's Choice for Councilor

As the 2026 FCT Area Council elections draw closer, the people of Wuse Ward find themselves at a pivotal moment. The call for credible leadership, community empowerment, and youth inclusion has never been louder. Rising to answer that call is Hon. Yunusa Kabiru Marsha, a grassroots leader, advocate for development, and a proud son of the soil—offering himself as the credible alternative in the race for Councilor of Wuse Ward, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

Hon. Yunusa Kabiru Marsha, councilorship aspirant for Wuse Ward, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to grassroots development and community empowerment during a spirited gathering of the APC youth coalition, known as the Candido Progressive Network (CPN). The event was organized in honor of Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and APC candidate for the upcoming 2026 FCT elections.

Hon. Kabiru made the declaration on Tuesday, May 14, 2025, while addressing Newsway reporters at the Arts and Culture Center in Abuja. The high-profile event attracted prominent political stakeholders and dignitaries, including former AMAC Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido, his former Vice Hon. Lawrence, and several other notable figures from the political and civic landscape.

Using the platform to champion his vision for transformative grassroots leadership, Hon. Kabiru expressed deep appreciation for the continued support of APC stalwarts across Wuse Ward and the wider AMAC region. He applauded the unity and dedication of party faithful and emphasized the need for strengthened collaboration as the 2026 elections draw near.

Addressing a crowd of energized youths, party loyalists, and political leaders, Hon. Yunusa Kabiru Marsha laid out his vision for a more inclusive, transparent, and progressive Wuse Ward. He underscored the importance of responsive governance, youth inclusion, and leadership that prioritizes the daily needs and aspirations of local residents.

“True progress begins with responsive leadership that listens, understands, and acts in the interest of the people,” he stated passionately.

Unlike many career politicians who emerge only during election cycles, Hon. Marsha is a product of the community he seeks to serve. Born and raised in Wuse Ward, he understands the heartbeat of the people—their struggles, their hopes, and their potential. For over a decade, he has walked with the people, offering service without seeking recognition and championing causes that bring real change to everyday lives.

Running under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Marsha brings a clear, people-centered agenda focused on:

Youth Empowerment: Vocational training, digital skills acquisition, startup support, and job creation initiatives for young people.

Education Support: Scholarships for deserving students, school infrastructure improvement, and distribution of learning materials.

Transparency in Governance: An open-door policy, participatory budgeting, and community-inclusive decision-making processes.

“Leadership should not be about promises; it should be about proof. I’ve served before without title—imagine what I can do with the people’s mandate,” Hon. Marsha remarked at a recent community gathering.

Hon. Marsha is not just a candidate—he is a bridge between the old and the young, the privileged and the underserved. His slogan, “Time to Smile”, represents more than a phrase; it is a mission to restore dignity, equity, and prosperity to the people of Wuse Ward.

He has earned the trust of elders, the respect of youth groups, and the admiration of community stakeholders for his humility, accessibility, and proactive leadership style. As a vocal advocate for good governance, he has been instrumental in mobilizing grassroots support, building coalitions, and standing up for the voiceless.

In a political space clouded by recycled promises and broken trust, Hon. Yunusa Kabiru Marsha stands tall as a beacon of hope—credible, capable, and committed. He offers a leadership model that puts people over politics and service over self-interest.

The 2026 councilorship election is not just about selecting a representative; it is about choosing the future of Wuse Ward. A vote for Hon. Yunusa Kabiru Marsha is a vote for ethical leadership, meaningful development, and real community representation.
