Yoruba Youths Hold National Indigenous Summit, Caution Youth Against Protest.

A non-partisan group dedicated to promoting good governance and democratic values, League of Yoruba Youths for Advocacy and Good Governance (LYYAGG), Convened National Indigenous Summit, Caution Youth Against Protest.
The gathering underscored the vital role of young people in peace building, which should influence government decision-making and policy development.

On Wednesday, the group made the call at the 2024 National Indigenous Youth Discussion, titled 'Participation Not Protest,' held at the Cyperian Ekwensi Center for Arts and Culture in Area 10, Abuja.
The President General of LYYAGG, Ambassador Adediwura Adesina, while addressing the participants said youth participation in the affairs of our Nation is not merely an option; it is a necessity. He maintained that Youth are the touch bearer of tomorrow leadership.
He asserts that when youth actively engage in governance and decision-making, they bring fresh perspectives, innovation and yielding energy that is vital for progress.
He exhorted participants to interact with local communities, participate in grassroots movements, and contribute to political discourse. By doing so, we can monitor government actions, hold our leaders accountable, and advocate for policies that promote a just and equitable society.
The alated ADEDIWURA expressed gratitude to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for providing substantial opportunities for the youth in his cabinet, especially the appointment of Hon. Ayodele Olawande as a Minister for Youth Development. This is the reflection of the unwavering roles youths play in shaping the future of Nigeria.
Adesina, while addressing Newsmen, stated that the inclusion of youth in Bola Ahmed Tinubu's cabinet clearly indicates that youth will assume the presidency of Nigeria in the next three political dispensations
The group acknowledged the dedicated efforts of the National security leaders, the Director General of the state security services, Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. CG Musa ( OFR), Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs services, Alh. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, Inspector General of Police,IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetotun, Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration services,CG Kemi Nanna and Commandant General, NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi , PhD,MNI, OFR.
He extols them for their unrelenting commitment to maintaining peace and their exceptional professionalism in defending the unity and progress.
The League of Yoruba Youths For Advocacy and Good Governance has meticulously observed and acknowledged Barr.Nyesome Wike, the FCT Minister’s numerous achievements since assuming office. While lauded him for the appointment of Hon. Suleiman Abdullah Ango as the mandate Secretary, FCT Youth Development Secretariat.
And other accomplishments range from the reconstruction of major roads and the digitization of land administration to actions taken against illegal structures, improvements in land allocations, revitalization of the health sector, provision of water supply, and the implementation of various people-centric policies.
“Moreover, we wish to extend appreciation for the Minister’s unwavering leadership, which has culminated in remarkable development and progress witnessed by the inhabitants of the territory.
The event featured the presentation of leadership awards to notable Nigerian icons who have exemplified leadership stewardship.
