Bureau honours Benue SUBEB Chairman for technological innovation

The Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Dr. Grace Adagba has received an  award yesterday "Best SUBEB in Innovative Use of Technology” for 2024 by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms.

The accolade was presented to the Chairman, Benue SUBEB , Dr. Grace Adagba , during the Nigeria GOVTECH Public Service Awards held on 11th October Friday in Abuja.

The state Commissioner of Education and Knowledge Management, Dr. Frederick Ikyaan, was in attendance to grace the occasion. The ceremony was attended by members of the board and management staff

BPSR lauded the efforts of the SUBEB Chairman and her management team as well as Teachers in the State in embracing digital resources to enhance the learning experiences of learners.

At the gala event, the  Award was the “Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer Award,” acknowledging her leadership in integrating technology into public service.

Director General of BPSR, Dr. Dasuki A stated that the awards were given “in recognition of the Benue SUBEC’s outstanding leadership in advancing technology initiatives and digitisation programmes that contribute to the digital transformation .

In her  acceptance speech, Adagba expressed gratitude to the BPSR, stating, “On behalf of the Benue state Government, and our dear Governor, His Excellency Fr Alia Iormem Hyacinth, management and staff of the Universal Basic Education Board , I would like to thank the Bureau of Public Service Reforms for selecting us ‘Best SUBEB in Innovative Use of Technology.’ We are truly delighted that our efforts to leverage technology to improve service delivery have been recognised.”

While speaking with Newsmen, She commended the state Governor, Dr. Hyacinth Alia, for his timely efforts in digital innovation and transformation, which was a testament to his passion and zeal for development in the education sector as well as the entire state.

Noting that Learners needed 21st century skills and knowledge to enable them compete with their counterparts worldwide.

Dr. Grace affirmed the state commitment to advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda set forth by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging to continue advancing digital transformation and innovation 

Adagba said Benue SUBEB is commited to transparency and accountability, while assuring everyone that the ongoing Teachers recruitement process is going to be the most transparent ever to be witnessed in Benue State.

She maintained that the CTB system introduced for teachers recruitment exercise is a non biased and transparent system,  first of its kind in Benue state.

She highlighted the laudable achievements of the Board, according to her the SUBEB had Automated payroll system which enabled them to block all the financial linkages and ensure transparent in the system.

“I want to reassure you that we will ensure our best to see that transparency, due process and accountability in our operating system,” she said.

The event was more than just a celebration of the Award ; it was a testament to the unwavering support and love that has been extended by friends and strangers alike. The connections made, the conversations had, and the beautiful memories created resonate deeply with everyone present, leaving a lasting impression that will be cherished for years to come.
