John Udeagbala Bags National Policy Fellows Award As ACCI holds Trade Fair

Chief Ide John Udeagbala, the immediate past President of  Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), has been honored with the National Policy fellows Award by Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 

The National Policy Fellows Award recognizes outstanding individuals who have significant contributions to Business and Economic Development in diverse fields of endeavours including Academia, Business and Human Rights, Chamber Movement, Civil Society/Community Development, Improved Public Service Delivery, Industry/SME Development, and Legislative Policy.

This Fellowship award was conferred on John Udeagbala at the 19th AITF in Abuja on Monday .

This prestigious recognition underscores his  unwavering committment to excellence, and outstanding leadership, diplomatic prowess, and steadfast commitment to furthering the ambitious vision of NACCIMA

Ex-  NACCIMA President has built bridges with chambers across the globe and formed formidable partnerships with Chambers of Commerce in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. He has been credited with introducing a number of high-quality, award-winning products into the Nigerian market.

Udeagbala, An alumnus of the Harvard University School of Business Administration, USA , is a strong corporate player who has acquired expertise and experience relevant to corporate management and governance.

Udeagbala has won several laurels in the course of his economic engagements over the years. In 1996, he won the National Productivity Merit Award (NPOM) in the Business Productivity category, and in 2015, he won the Excellence Award by the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB). One of his company’s subsidiaries also won an award as the Best SMEIS 2008 by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

 NACCIMA@60 ,  he received the ‘Excellence Award for Meritorious Services and Contribution to the Growth and Development of Industry and Trade in Nigeria’ by NACCIMA.

While addressing the journalists after the conferment, he appealed to federal government to look into the Energy crisis. Adding that, it affects the economy.

Earlier today, the President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu has disclosed that the Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF) is a commercial hub for knowledge sharing, collaboration and networking.

He made the disclosure during the opening session of the 19th AITF in Abuja on Monday.

The President said ” Over the years, the AITF has established itself as a premier multi-sectoral event in Nigeria, growing both in scope and influence. It remains one of the largest trade platforms in Africa, offering domestic and international exhibitors the opportunity to showcase new products, access emerging markets, build business relationships, and gain insights into evolving industry trends.

” As Nigeria’s capital, Abuja offers a unique strategic advantage for hosting this prestigious event. Its central location and accessibility from all parts of the country, combined with a safe and hospitable environment, make it ideal for accommodating both local and international participants.

Speaking on the theme of this year’s fair, “Mobility: Options for Transportation, Trade Financing, and Taxation,” the president stressed that it addresses key drivers of business growth. Mobility has become a critical factor in today’s global economy, influencing trade, finance, and taxation. Efficient transportation options help businesses overcome logistical challenges, streamline supply chains, and reduce operational costs, all of which are essential for driving economic growth.

He said “The Fair is designed to serve as a hub for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and networking. By bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts, we aim to chart a path toward a more innovative, efficient, and sustainable future in mobility while also addressing critical issues such as access to financing and the complexities of taxation.”

According to him the 2024 edition of the AITF will feature over 500 exhibitors from various sectors, showcasing more than 10,000 products, solutions, and services to nearly 100,000 attendees over 12 days.

“This year’s Trade Fair is unique in that we are unveiling our inaugural National Policy Fellows, whose investiture will be conducted shortly. The National Policy Fellows Award recognizes outstanding individuals who have significant contributions to Business and Economic Development in diverse fields of endeavours including Academia, Business and Human Rights, Chamber Movement, Civil Society/Community Development, Improved Public Service Delivery, Industry/SME Development, and Legislative Policy.
