GLEMDI hosts FCT Students on Leadership Development and capacity Building

The Godspeed Leadership and Mentorship Development Initiative (GLEMDI) has organized a capacity building program for Basic and post Basic Education that captured Secondary school Head boys and Head girls.
The laudable initiative brought together 52 schools and their teachers to witness the milestone training, with the theme " Enhancing capacity for leadership and accountability among learners for sustainable development.
The retreat which took place at the prestigious Cyprian Ekwensi National Center for Arts and culture, on Thursday being 26th September, 2024.
Speaking at the ceremony Thursday in Abuja, Habila Kayit, Executive Director of GLEMDI, said the NGO decided to organize the retreat for the younger ones to build their leadership trajectory. Noting that Leadership Development Initiatives refer to the structured programs and activities designed to enhance leadership skills and capabilities within an institution
The Godspeed Leadership and Mentorship Development Initiative (GLEMDI) is a Non-Governmental Organization, dedicated to promote forthrightness in leadership and politics and are determined to ensure the emergence of credible and noble leaders that will promote good ambassador.
According to him, Glemdi has decided to be part of the solution to the leadership challenges in Nigeria, " we don't want to be among the citizens that complain, we want to offer sustainable solution, that is the aims of this treat".
Adding that, development of mindset is necessary in the school of leadership, we want to give the students the platform to express themselves and expand their leadership horizon
He maintained that the same initiatives will be repeated in Kaduna state in few weeks from now. We are hoping to have a better leader as we progress on the crusade of catch them young.
Habila, expressed satisfaction with the participants from both the public and private schools that participated in this year edition of the retreat. While promised that in five years from now, the initiatives will be spreading across the Six geo-political zones
The program was an interesting one, it gives opportunity for students to ask questions and respond from the dignataries
The event was more than just the leadership and mentorship retreat for the students ; it was a testament to the unwavering support and love that has been extended by friends and strangers alike to move the capacity building and and leadership development's vision forward. The connections made, the conversation had, and the beautiful memories created resonate deeply with everyone present, leaving a lasting impression that will be cherished for years to come.
