IGPCM advocates peacebuilding, Names 45 Ambassadors

 In a remarkable journey of unwavering determination and a commitment to World Peace and impact in the society, the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management, on 11th May, inducted and Commissioned the total of 45 Peace Crusaders of Nigeria as Distinguished Peace Ambassador 

Among the notable Ambassadorial icons  Awarded, are economists, financial experts, sports personalities, religious leaders, industrialists, entertainment entrepreneurs, traditional rulers, activists, thinkers, and creators who have transcended boundaries and overcome challenges to leave in-erasable legacies.

Saturday NEWSWAY Media reports that, the  prestigious ceremony took place at Nigerian National Merit Award House, Maitama Abuja.

The “ Peace Ambassador Award” is the highest calling and most outstanding recognition to individuals whose life exemplify the ideals of living for the sake of others,  and who dedicate themselves to promote universal moral values and the establishment of a cultural value system predicated on trust and peace.

It was learnt that, the induction will further strengthens the membership capacity of the Institute and generates global awareness. Also, with the induction, new global peace agents have been added to the society and many institutions which will encourage the establishment of community-level peacebuilding mechanisms across the country for effective conflict resolution.

Speaking during the induction ceremony in Abuja on Saturday , the Registrar and Secretary to the Council, Ambassador Tarhule Joshua , lamented the increasing conflict in the country.

He called on the government to take a cue from the measures taken to prevent conflicts from escalating before the advent of civilisation.


While addressing the journalists, Amb. Joshua said the organization is committed to raise the peace Builders across the Country, saying peace is the essential commodity in the life of every citizens of this country. This initiative is ongoing, we are inducting another set of peace Crusaders in Lagos this weekend, porthacourt another weekend. it is a ceaseless calling, he added.

" We are Building a movement  involving all sectors of the society that promote peace and unity Globally, there is no better time than now, he said". 

NEWSWAY Media understands that, we all need to look into our history and culture to discover the mechanisms we have used in the past to prevent the escalation of conflicts and conserve cohesion. One of the reasons conflicts have spread is that we have allowed community-level peace-building mechanisms that have been instrumental in harmony and cohesion to disappear.

The Concern citizens are solicited  the support of the Federal Government for the  establishment of peacebuilding institutions across the board for lasting solution to the causes of insecurities in Nigeria 

Speaking with one of the Ambassadors name withheld, said  partnership or collaboration  with other sister organizations shall play the important role of preparing regular conflict assessment reports across states and engaging in conflict monitoring and mitigation activities across the country. Also institute a resource centre for conflict management and peacebuilding within IGPCM management is needed 

Speaking to Newsway,  Ambassador yekini urged Nigerians to uphold the country’s unity and shun divisive activities 


As the event unfolded, it became evident that this celebration of Peace Ambassador Awards, was more than just a milestone; it was a testament to the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management in the Establishment of Building mechanism and Conflict Resolutions strategists for the shared future  and its ability to bring Awardees together in joyous camaraderie. The overwhelming response from the attendees, who left the event fulfilled and yearning for more, spoke volumes about the success of the induction ceremony and the anticipation for future engagements.
