ALIA CROWNS GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR BY LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER

ALIA NAMED “GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR” BY LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPERS.

In a distinguished ceremony held at the  Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, was earlier today, awarded the prestigious title of Governor of the Year 2023 by LEADERSHIP Newspapers. The accolade, bestowed upon Rev. Fr. Alia, was in recognition of his remarkable achievements and transformative leadership since assuming office.

The decision to honour Rev. Fr. Alia with the Governor of the Year award was driven by his outstanding contributions to the development of Benue State within a remarkably short period. His commitment to governance and dedication to uplifting the lives of the people of Benue State have earned him widespread acclaim and commendation.

The ceremony was graced by critical stakeholders and prominent figures within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. Among those in attendance were Sen. Barnabas Gemade, Maj. Gen. Lawrence Onoja (rtd), Sen. Akaagerger, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Jime, Rt.Hon.Nick Ewero,  Acting State Chairman of the APC in Benue, Hon. Benjamin Omakolo, members of the state working committee, Dan Ashiekaa, Engr. Peter Ashiekaa, as well as all principal officers of the administration, commissioners, and advisers.

Rev. Fr. Alia's receipt of the Governor of the Year award is a testament to his unwavering commitment to excellence and service to the people of Benue State. Under his leadership, Benue State is poised for greatness, with a renewed sense of hope and optimism for the future.

In his acceptance speech, Rev. Fr. Alia expressed gratitude to LEADERSHIP Newspapers for the honor bestowed upon him and reaffirmed his dedication to fulfilling the mandate entrusted to him by the people of Benue State. He reiterated his commitment to advancing the socio-economic development of the state and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every citizen.

As the applause echoed through the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton, it was evident that Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia's leadership has not only captured the attention of the nation but has also set a new standard for governance in Nigeria. With his vision and determination, Benue State is on the path to greatness once again.

Dr. Frederick Ikyaan , Benue State commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, While addressing the journalists at the event,  said the Award is a testament to the governor's outstanding achievements. 

"He said the governor has demonstrated a sufficient political will by advancing the interest of the state. He has showing practical Infrastructural development in the state capital and few local governments  across the state. The dividends of democracy has been felt by people within his short time in office.

"He maintained that the state ministry of Education has been able to address the issues of out of school children, girl child education, technical and vocational education, entrepreneurship education. New skills and knowledge system has already been rolled out to equip the students in the state to meet up with 21st century technology. 

The event, beyond its celebratory nature, served as a testament to Alias’s pursuit of positive change and renewed hope Agenda. As the nation craves progress for hardworking and good governance,  Rev.Fr Hyacinth's award stands as a beacon, inspiring future generations and encouraging a shift toward results and good standards in the realm of  Administration, policy reform and good governance.
