Catholic priest Rev. Father Pius Aniekop has bagged a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Management from University of Abuja. After successful thesis defence, Rev. Father has now awarded his PhD degree which he described as a milestone achievement for him.
Rev. Father Pius is a distinguished academic and trailblazer in the field of education, Administration Management, and philanthropic endeavors. He is a successful Man of God!
While speaking with NEWSWAY media at the Convocation square the clergyman appreciated the Almighty for the successful completion of this degree, promised to remain committed to societal development
Also expressed satisfaction with the University management and the developmental strides of the vice chancellor of the University, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah.
" He said there is no alternative to education, every Nigeria child should be given opportunity for education.
"He also called on governments at all levels to commit more attention to the promotion of education in the country.
Pius said that education remained the only route to sustainable stability and development in Nigeria.
"He said that the most important of all investments any government could do was the development of the human mind through quality academic efforts.
The Reverend Father said that effective education was the only option to guarantee the stability, security, development and prosperity of the country in view òf her increasing population.
PIUS said, “I call for more support to this university. A number of our people don’t know that In the next couple of years, our country will be the third most populous , he added.
“And there is no way we can talk of any meaningful stability, of security, of development, of prosperity unless we have succeeded in creating that critical mass of enlightened citizenry that can sustain economic prosperity and development through education
“This issue of education is so important because every other form of development, in the end is brick and mortar. It is good to build the roads and bridges as we are seeing, but the only investment that has the inherent capacity to multiply itself in several folds, the only investment that does not need repairs is the investment in human mind.”

who belongs to the Catholic Society , the congregations of the mission (CM), the Catholic Arms that responsible for assisting the indigents Citizens, has called on the federal government to take the welfare of teachers serious and also look deeply into 'JAPA syndrome'.

Saturday NEWSWAY media reports that, A total of 41 out of 9,172 graduating students of the University of Abuja has bagged First Class at its 28th convocation ceremony on Saturday, February 17,2024. The institution’s Vice Chancellor,Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, disclosed this at the Convocation ceremony in Abuja.
The Vice Chancellor explained that in all,the regular programme has produced 6,237 graduands,while Centre for Distance Leaning and Continuing Education programme has churn out 971 graduates. On the other hand, the Institute of Education is graduating 688 graduands.
Giving further breakdown on the number of graduating students,Prof. Na’Allah explained that 7,896 are graduating from undergraduate programmes. Similarly,he said a total of 1,276 students has graduated from post-graduate school.
He said:”Out of all the undergraduate students, First Class is 41;Second Class Honours (Upper Division) 1,845; Second Class Honours (Lower Division) 4,842; Third Class Degree 1,075; Pass Degree 50, MBBS 43, Ph.D 151; Masters Degree including professional Masters 742 and post-graduate Diploma 383.”
“The total number of graduands is 9,172. The regular programme is producing 6,237, Centre for Distance Leaning and Continuing Education is producing 971 and the Institute of Education also has 688,”he added.
Highlighting the achievements of the institution,Prof. Na’Allah said while four new facilities have been established, Mass Communication has been unbundled into seven different departments.
The vice chancellor disclosed that the Central Bank of Nigeria,CBN,has granted approval for the take-off of the university’s micro-finance bank.
