UNITY, COLLABORATION, DOMINANT THEME AS THE AFRICA YOUTH LEADERSHIP AND CULTURE SUMMIT ( AYLCUS ) GEARS UP FOR 2024 CULTURAL FESTIVAL.

The Africa Youth leadership and Culture is set to host the Africa Continents on cultural diversity come May 2024. This is to leverage the power of the African creative and cultural industries to deliver tangible opportunities for our young people domestically. Also to allow sectors help retell the narrative about modern Africa on the world stage, and allow it to contribute a unique and insightful voice across both the public and private sectors globally.
The Africa Youth Leadership & Culture Summit(AYLCS) is an annual event that will bring together young leaders across the continent of Africa, the Caribbean to diversify on cultural heritage and appreciation.
The one day Mini summit which held in Abuja, Thursday 18 , 2024, attracted dignitaries from different works of life. the social organization cast searchlight on the importance of Cultural diversity , as gateway for continent’s growing influence on the world stage.
Thursday NEWSWAY Africa gathered that, the summit which will be held from May 21st to 25 this year, will attracts speakers and delegates from across the continent and around the world and celebrates Africa’s creative, knowledge and digital industries, combining sessions, networking activities and local events. The announcement was made at the ‘ prestigious event held at Chinese Cultural Center, ABUJA.
Speaking at the event, Hon.Quadri -adu Shakir KEHINDE, President/CEO Caribbean Chamber of Culture and Tourism,
noted that ,The whole idea of African Youth Leadership and Culture Summit (AYLCUS 2024) is to make Unity as pinnacle of our sustainability. African youths should decolonize their mindset and begin to accept Africa’s current challenges as opportunity to transform the Continents, he said.
He said this cultural fusion festival, will open up opportunities in African culture. Aside from opportunities in African culture, the event would create the right links to harness youths’ potential, tourism, and economic development.
The President said the event which would take place from May 21st – 25, 2024, is a celebration of Africa’s rich cultural diversity and heritage.
According to him, this annual cultural festival will become a cornerstone event, fostering a deep appreciation for the tapestry of African culture, while also serving as a powerful vehicle for sustainable progress and economic development.
“We believe that African culture is a powerful force for creativity and economic growth,” KEHINDE said in a statement.
“Aylcus 2024 is dedicated to harnessing this potential to engage and empower youths, promote cultural tourism, generate employment, and boost the African economy and Nigeria in particular
“Aylcus 2024 seeks to further amplify these efforts by exploring new opportunities within African culture for investments in music, arts, and food. These initiatives are poised to empower youths, promote cultural tourism, generate employment, and significantly boost the African economy, aligning perfectly with the Global Sustainable Development Goals,” he added.
"He said the only antidote to poverty and social vices is Culture, our beautiful Culture can be found in the quality of our indigenous food, our music, our dance, fashion, entertainment and others. Therefore, African youth must begin to see themselves as the most blessed people on the planet earth, he stressed.
"Let’s take a journey together, from Zanzibar to Lesotho, from Gusau to the Ashanti land of Ghana, from Soweto to the land of Pharaoh (Egypt), you must see through the cloud.
"Nigeria, like many nations in the world, also faces a growing number of young people living with isolation and mutual distrust, based on ideologies or identities. AYLCUS 2024 helps to create a humanity-focused base for easier conversations, and for growth and development to happen.”
The Summit will equally champion diversity and ethical practices within the cultural content ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of amplifying diverse voices and perspectives, to ensure that narratives from every corner of Africa are heard and celebrated. Additionally, the summit will delve into strategies to safeguard and empower Youth, training that will fostering a creative environment grounded in integrity.
In a bold move to empower the next generation, the summit will unveil initiatives dedicated to nurturing emerging creators. It will foster a collaborative, diverse, and ethically driven content , ensuring that African creators have the tools and support they need to thrive in the digital age.
