Harmony Corps of Nigeria Boss, Amb. Elizabeth Omini  Calls for peaceful Co - Existence Among Nigerian.

The Founder of Harmony Corps of Nigeria (HCN), Amb.Mrs Elizabeth Omini has called for  peaceful co-existence and Harmony among  Nigerians  for national development.

She made the call at a One–day program organized by security and forensic study of Nigeria,  in a prestigious event held at the Nigerian National Merit Award House Maitama FCT-Abuja 

Ambassador Elizabeth Omini was of the conviction that if our youth are consciously cultivated and nurtured in right values and attitudes, they would grow up as reasonable adults, equipped to contribute to the development of our nation and also to global affairs. She said the youth constitute a critical segment of the society and without serious engagement with them there will be no meaningful development in the country. 

While addressing the journalists at the event, she said the youth are the engine that drives growth and development, stating that it is based on this premise that it has become imperative to guard and guide the youth against any act that is inimical to peaceful co-existence of our nation.

The HCN boss decried the current trend whereby youths are recruited and used as tools by selfish individuals in the society for personal political goals and ambition. According to him, HCN is committed to sensitizing and fully mobilizing the youth by engaging them in a productive venture to continue to embrace peace for national development.

She said, “Despite the oneness being promoted by all the tiers of governments in Nigerian communities, cases of religious killings, ethnic cleansing, cult clashes and hooliganism are witnessed in most parts, due to high level of intolerance occasioned by no respect for cultural diversities and divergent opinions, and high level of unemployment.

 

She recalled that, ‘’The oneness that Nigeria was enjoying in the early 1970s is now elusive, noting that what is being witnessed across all areas is destruction of lives and properties, serious conflicts leading to physical assaults and serious threats to our national unity and economic stability.

“We are using this medium to implore all and sundry to resist all forms of divisive tendencies agents and campaigns in our communities, shun all forms of killings/jungle justice, maiming and hatred in order to reposition Nigeria better in comity of nations. We must encourage , peaceful co-existence and respect for others’ opinions.”

The  HCN Boss urged the youth to shun vices that will not guarantee a secure future by rejecting negative values and embrace our national core values as the present administration is committed to providing enabling environment for job creation .

According to Ambassador Elizabeth Omini while speaking with pressmen ,  HCN is out to create a conscious socialization process by formal and Non-formal Education system where citizens will imbibe Non-violence attitudes and behaviors by upholding National and Human Dignity

Friday NEWSWAY gathered that, Harmony Corps of Nigeria is a non governmental Security Company birthed in 2014, with aim of fostering National and Global Peace, eradicating youth anti - social behaviours, campaign and spread the value of universal basic education , conflict resolution and peaceful coexistence among communities.

 Amb. Mrs Omni Elizabeth, a passionate woman ,  selfless  personality and detribalised Nigerian with a genuine burden to see Youths of Nigeria gainfully employed and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the nation. 

She said the HCN is spread across 33 states of Nigeria with members of the Corp working in communities across Nigeria. Through high level of passion and hard work , over these years of struggle.

 Ambassador Elizabeth Omni has sent the Bill establishing the Corps read at the floor of both the House of representatives and Senate chamber three times. the HCN has been collaborating with other security agencies and particularly,Nigerian orientation agency to see advocacy at the community level .
