The newly inducted estate surveyors and valuers have been asked to avoid all tendencies capable of undermining professional ethics in the overall interest of the people and the country at large. The Chairman, Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria  (ESVARBON), gave the charge in Abuja at the 47 induction ceremony for the newly registered estate surveyors and valuers. ESVARBON is the government’s regulatory arm for the estate surveyors and valuers.

The Chairman of the board, Mr Gersh Henshaw, called on the inductees not to compromise standards in the discharge of their duties.

While noting that professionalism was the way to go, he urged all newly inducted estate surveyors and valuers to be wary of engaging in any act that could impact on the integrity of the profession and professionalism in the country.

Turning to the inductees, the Council Authority, told them to “go out and give a good account of yourselves and be good ambassadors of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers and the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria”. He reminded them that the stamps, seals and certificates given to them, are properties of ESVARBON which reserves the right to withdraw them, if their use is abused. “The rules and regulations of the Board should be the guide of any registered estate surveyor and valuer and their violation will not be tolerated,” he said.

Speaking with journalists, the president said there is need for integrity in the practice of estate surveying and valuation, pointing out that without integrity, you cannot be a professional. He added that the institution frowns at any of its member who down plays on integrity.

He charged the inductees on dynamism , He added ," we are a dynamic world with fast - changing technology and ways of doing things. I , therefore, urge you to embrace continuing professionals development. Continuing professional development is key to your relevance in practice".
