Encomium Flows as Adesola Olusade Bags UN Peace Medal 🏅 Award

The permanent secretary FCTA, Sir. Olusade Adesola, has been honoured as a 'Global Peace Diplomat' by the United Nation peace volunteers, in recognition of his selflessness, patriotism, human capital development and empowerment, good governance and dedication to global peace and development. The international peace medal award on SDG 16 and 17 came as a well deserved honour .
The indefatigable permanent secretary received the award and decoration in a prestigious event held at petrus Hotel Area 11 Abuja. The ceremony was attended by his family members, friends and associates drawn from all works of life , as well as the peace advocates.
The UN Peace Volunteers , an international non-sectarian, non-partisan, nonprofit organization which promotes an innovative, values-based approach to peace building.
The alated permanent secretary , Mr. Adesola Olusade, expressed satisfaction and thanked the organization, described the award as the ' international peace medal Award' on SDG 16 and 17. Sustainable Development Goal 17 is about "partnerships for the goals." One of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in 2015, the official wording is: "Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development".
According to him the present of everyone here today represent the good goal 17 which talks about partnership and inclusiveness, "I therefore salute all your participation, he said".
He said our country has aligned with the SDG , looking at the ministerial mandate of Mr . President, is to end poverty , promote inclusion and anti- corruption stands to promote industrialization and inclusivity to draw capacities, all this speak on SG
His speech revealed that, hard work and dedication to duty in any ministry he worked makes him to leave a good foot print. Until his appointment to FCTA , he served in ministry of Youth and Sports, Niger Delta where the impact and legacy cannot be erased.
While speaking on his achievement as the permanent secretary FCTA, he has brought alots of Policy Initiative and reformation like , Regular promotion of staff and payment as at when due, Standard operating procedure ( SOP ), a federal Government's policy that things should be done in structure manner. Several departments in FCT are now fully automated and are deploying their SOPs accordingly. Proper Budgetary system has been put in place.
" quite numbers of FCTA staff have received Basic Digital Skills, to meet the Digitalization efforts of the administration. By the nearest future Government Operations in FCT are expected to be fully digitalized.
While addressing the
journalists at the end of the event, he stressed the need to continue to promote peace and encourage peaceful co-existence and good governance in such a way that the effects would be felt by the people even at the grassroot.
He charged the younger civil servants and the Youth to be dedicated to duty, given room to learning and be committed to new information, obey the rule and regulations that guided the operation of the work, join hands together to build the nation of our dream.
He went further to emphasize the importance of peace-building as an instrument for economic transformation and development, calling on all Nigerians to work together towards a harmonious and prosperous future for the nation. He is a recipient of numerous awards for leadership and quality humanitarian services, through which he has championed many advocacy and mentorship programmes across the country
Sir. Olusade expressed satisfaction especially with the fact that everything was done with professionalism based strictly on merit and verifiable performance.
” Sometimes when you are focused in your pursuit, you may not know those who are observing until you receive interesting commendations and awards like this from reputable Organization.
"This honour is an indication that people are watching our little efforts, this is a new employment , I have just been inducted into the hall of fame, it gives me joy for this recognition and I hope to do more in our collective effort towards building a better Nigeria", he said.
